Am I the only one thinking how funny it'd be if it was hit by a missile from a drone?

Best pwned image ever.

ground to air missiles cost 100's of thousands of pounds

I know the cost of a single 500lb JDAM is in the 40k mark.

this will be interesting to watch though,if a small state can develop and successfully use electric vehicles, then the whole idea may be viable for bigger countries that rely more heavily of petrochemicals

Even Jeremy Clarkson could have built that thing with $5000 dollars

everything has small beginnings, and it goes to show you don't have to spend millions on research and development to reach the same result.

True, but fitting solar panels atop cars doesn't really solve anything, at least in the West, and certainly when there is only 8 hours of sunlight or less. Better than a camel, however.

Does it come with a place to put your hummus and a shawarma holder?

Why not just buy a golf cart, put the solar panels on the roof of your home and use them to charge it? It looks like a golf cart.

typically... I haven't read the article mind you, the solar panels in these types of car are also used to trickle top up the vehicle when its on the go, also why not have it built into the vehicle if it means you don't have to rely on charging it all the time especially as they probably don't have charging points located all round Palestine.

Because you are in Palestine, and solar panels are easy to damage or steal.

If this is really just a conceptual mock up, then no big deal, but if it is someone's daily driver, it won't be for long.

Jeremy Clarkson can barely figure out how to plug in a toaster, let alone design a solar powered car.

Actually, a solar panel on most cars would allow a climate control system to keep the interior of the car cool so that on hot days when you get in the cabin was nice and comfy.

Assuming you could get enough energy it could also be used to heat the engine block in winter so that there were less cold-start emissions, which would raise your average fuel economy in the winter, and decrease engine wear.

Lots of reasons to put solar panels on cars even if you aren't running solar powered car.

Most of the wear and tear that causes alternators to wear out on cars is because of the charge cycle that needs to be done after the car is sitting for a while. Another small gain for fuel economy. Having to charge the battery causes increased drag on the engine until the battery is brought up to normal charge.

Let's clear something up here....solar panels don't need direct sunlight.

This reply, combined with your signature, is funny to me.

If you're going to attempt to be a tool, at least spend a couple of minutes on Google to make sure you're not talking rubbish, eh?
