Nope, no other car makers in the world have taken design ideas from other makers. Except for us Americans of course. Thank you for pointing this out.
You take it as if it were an insult.

Us Brits have had a few shaky relationships with re-badging as well.

EDIT: I know you're Canadian, I was just making conversation.
Well, I'm not really sure though cause Vauxhall is basically Chevrolet rebadged in the UK. At least, an awful lot of models. Like the Vauxhall Cavalier is the Chevy Cavalier over here. Terrible car that, but cheap.

I don't know where it comes from though....is it originally British and then rebadged as a Chevy for the NA market? Or is it originally a Chevy and rebadged as Vauxhall for the UK/EU market? Or does it come from even further away than that? lol

AFAIK it has only really been GM that does it a lot. Holden Monaro to Vauxhall Monaro to Pontiac GTO when it finally hits our shores.

Not like I'm an expert on the topic at all. Don't care enough TBH as I don't buy domestic vehicles at all, ever.

Edit: I remember working at a GM dealership quite a few years back right as the "Optra 5" or whatever came out for Chevy. I quickly learned it was because GM had just bought some Daewoo factories or something and pretty much the entire new line were just rebadged Daewoos. I found that amusing.

It wasn't? It's hard to tell because of the amount of America bashing that happens on these forums.

How can it be? Canada doesn't even make any cars at all.

Actually, a lot of ford's are made in Canadia, I always laugh when people say "buy domestic", that term has no meaning any more.

Haha, my friend calls it Canadia as well.

Are they actually designed in Canada by Canadians though? Or actually American designed but just manufactured here?

If we are actually designing and building them now, that's pretty cool.

Truth about buying domestic, pretty much everything is imported now. They just stamp whatever domestic brand name on it and say it is domestic.

I actually got some canned goods recently that said "Product of Canada" on it but if you actually read the various fineprint, it is just canned in Canada and is actually made in various southern states, and Mexico, so I think only the can itself is a product of Canada

Dang this is pretty off topic now isn't it.

No idea, it's kind of hard to pinpoint where anything automotive is designed these days.

I always thought that was funny, in my time in Canada, I noticed there were a lot more products that were made in the U.S., than there are actually available in the U.S.

I would look at product labels and see a lot of "Product of the United states", or similar wording.

I am not a fan of the car to be honest, but I will admit: Kyros is a looney tune.

Why is this? I am hurt.

If ever you are bullied or teased at school about something, the best thing to do was make fun of yourself over the same reason, then you'd be bullied no more. This obviously does not apply on these forums.

The GT-86 was pretty much a collaboration between the two from the get go. Scion is the "hip" brand of Toyota's and Toyota intended to brand it as the FR-S here in the US since its inception. Subaru also intended to sell it here as well.

Its not the first time Subaru has partnered up with somebody. The 9-2x Aero is a WRX in disguise.

I wonder what goes through patriotic Harley riders minds when they order genuine parts, and see "made in china" markings on the HD box. Harrey David - San!

Must be some chronic cognitive dissonance thing.
