I have bungled

So it's a nice day and I decided to ride to work today, something I do quite often in the summer. I got peckish at lunchtime, as you do, so I popped down to the local Tesco Express for a sandwich and maybe a coca-cola. I get there, lock up my bike, purchase my snacks and head back outside. ****ing key won't work in the lock. Ten minutes later and a LOT of swearing and nothing. It's at this point that I'm starting to suspect people are about to call the police so I have had to call someone from the office to come and collect me. Cue hilarity. The damn thing is still locked up to a trolley rack and will be until I can find someone with an angle grinder to lend me.

I know it needs cleaning, but a) that's hardly my main concern right now, b) I ride to work on an off-road route so it gets dirty as soon as I clean it.

Surely a proper 'bungle' would lock up the bike and throw the key into a nearby bush for 'safety' just in case someone tried to rob him, then not be able to find it after getting a coke...

You were just unlucky.

Viafdrear 08-25-2012 02:24 AM

Or realise you were trying to unlock the lock off the wrong bike.

jeockammece 08-25-2012 02:24 AM

Aye, crap locks and keys are part and parcel of life. No faux pas on your part dangly.

To truly Bungle this you'd have needed to have chained it to someone elses bike.

Mynameishappy 08-25-2012 02:28 AM

I'm not sure what any of this has to do with me.

A good point indeed.

He didn't capitalise the b so it isn't about you. You're being paranoid.

Other than the literal, I thought it would wind you up if I associated it with you and I could do with a laugh right now.

How tall are you? That bike looks like it's owned by a 10 year old.

The seat looks ridiculously too high to the handlebars IMO.

It's a 16" frame. I have an embarrassing inside leg of 29" inches. I am top tall.

It works for me. I only use it to go to work and back. It's only got a rock shox dart 1 front end (really crap, no damping) and alivio gearset. I've got a decent bike that I take off-roading but it's in great need of a lot of work.

Arrows were pointing at your post as it was above mine. You're right and he's wrong. You bungled again.

TaxSheemaSter 08-25-2012 02:47 AM

To truly have "bungled" would have been to come back and find just your frame locked to the trolley aisle and your wheels gone. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/laugh1.gif

And his posts often read like they were made by a ten year old too.
