(CNN) -- Police took a man into custody Monday after "multiple people" were shot near Texas A&M University, a police official said.
Several law enforcement officers were among the people shot, Rhonda Seaton of the College Station Police Department told CNN. She didn't have information on how many people were shot or their conditions.
She said a person identified as the gunman was in custody. The shooting happened about one block from campus, Seaton said.
The university had warned people to stay away from the intersection of Welborn Road and George Bush Drive as well as part of Fidelity Drive in College Station, Texas.

These things always "feed" themselves. If that makes sense.

As usual the media has to insert things like Texas A&M and make a big deal out of something that wasn't really a mass shooting or anything spectacular.

They were evicting some poor SOB and I guess it was one of those "over my dead body" moments.

This was absolutely nothing like the recent shootings, it was a dude in his house shooting back at the people trying to take his home from him. Not that I support the crazy mofo, but it's clear his intention was nothing like with the recent shooting sprees. Probably some dude at the end of his rope in a bad economy about to find himself homeless, people do crazy stuff when put in those kinds of situations.

Id hardly call this a "mass shooting" if this was a game that would barely ranked on a leaderboard.

Well, they updated the story - which is why i didn't leave any thoughts; what i posted originally was in fact the news piece and headline.

pretty much every day out here there's reports of shootings on the news, lol.

I think its the norm,and the country is desensitized by it being a common place occurrence.

Your countrymen's willingness to surrender their civil-liberties is far more disturbing than random acts of violence.
