Default How to suck at your religion
The Oatmeal nails it.
Not really.

Yes, really.
It's everything that half-way intelligent people realize about religion at about age 14. And it doesn't address it in a way to make believers question themselves. It's designed for smug atheists to go 'right on!' but not to affect any change.

Not really

The only thing unique and noteworthy was that it was finally explained that when homosexuals have intercourse it causes a Nickelback album to be released. Other than that, meh.

Some people probably don't like how it hits too close to home.

The artist doesn't make any pretense of changing the world or making profound, unprecedented arguments with a web comic. It's just supposed to be funny. Sorry if you didn't like the jokes.

I didn't get that slide. Is it just funny because of the proselytizing rabbis? It seems almost like a nonsequitor.

Well, if you are agreeing with Alby it's because you're stupid.

It's designed for agnostics, not atheists. The moral is to keep it to yourself and believe what you want, not to preach theism or atheism.

I'm not surprised it's over the heads of many of you.

I'm particularly perplexed by the "heavy handed" comments. Is this the first time the lot of you have ever read The Oatmeal? From the responses in this thread, the only people who didn't like it are either autistic or on the fringe, politically.

What "heavy handed" comments?
Is this a trick question?

Personally I think it just demonstrates how mistaken people are about religious matters.

Do explain...

Good idea Al. When someone fails, they should give up and try something else.

The first one was a common fail so I didn't read the rest of them. (Actually I glanced over a couple more). "Do not judge by appearances, but make a correct judgement" - Jesus.

I just looked at some more of those "so called" comics. Those are really bad Asher. You should be ashamed.

You're right, Kid. A mentally unwell hardcore Christian nutjob thinks they are bad...ashamed, I must be.
I said ashamed, not butt hurt!

I like how Kid and Alby have teamed up to embarrass anyone who agreed with them in this thread.

Never once has anyone ever talked about you or gays in any church that I've been to. You just don't know what you're talking about. You created a boogyman in your own mind.
