The V40 looks cool, but it peeves me that Volvo are charging for rear parking sensors! Even Fiat don't!

You sure? That might depend of the package you choose for that model...

Apparently it's a cost upgrade even on the Volvo V40 D4 SE Lux Nav Geartronic

Ok
By the way the prices I showed you are for unlimited mileage, with all services & maintenance included, full insurance cover, breakdown cover and relief vehicle.

Yeah the new design is weird as hell. They got rid of the S40 as their entry level sedan and the V50 as their entry level station wagon and have the V40 hatchback (WTF Volvo...) and the V60 Station wagon as their lowest end models in those categories. Also, the V40 looks a lot like a Ford, must say I prefered the older models

More in line then:

Volvo S60 Saloon T3 [150] ES 4dr

3 year Monthly Cost:
£410.00
4 year Monthly Cost:
£399.00
Monthly BIK (20%):
£68.00
Monthly BIK (40%):
£136.00
I'd forgotten how much cars were in the UK... even for leasing.

Here I could lease the S60 for $299 (base model - 250bhp 5 cylinder).

No. You should look for a better paying job.

I really fancy an slk, but I just can't get behind the concept of a diesel roadster.

Post of the Year 2012.
It was a pretty short list... although I think The Zed Pistols was pretty good too.

I have a similar predicament (well not a business car)

My BMW is still economical, cheap to insure, has enough power to suit my needs, and is still cheap to tax, but shes almost 10 years old

that still being said apart from the wife scuffing the alloys shes still in top condition and still a head turner.

I'm feeling the "new car urge" but I'm still in two minds what to do, I know there are cars out there that are cheaper to tax and run but they just don't sit right with me.... very odd I cant stand the new shape saloon BMW's either so I'm at a loss what to do, although I like the 335d coups they are not as efficient as my car and my needs plus they aint family friendly.

Its like a mental block when it comes to this car even with diesel prices as high as they are yet 90 quid (a full tank) see's me through the whole month .

My suggestion would be an EREV (Extended Range Electric Vehicle) Opel Ampera (in US sold as Chevy Volt).

70-80km on electricity, then on a gasoline engine. Driving on electricity costs 1 EUR/100km, 0-100 = 9+ seconds.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3emYdFEWyJ8

I bought one 2 weeks ago, done 800+km, spent 2 litres of gasoline.

This is one of my videos I've made:

Check other videos I've made with the Ampera.

That's nearly $140 to our American friends.

I filled a PT cruiser for $35 last year in California!

Prices and BIK are actually very comparable for diesel and non-diesel SLKs from what I can see...

I don't think i'd buy a car that had them as standard because the look crap. Unless you can get ones which aren't visible now. I'm sure you could park a car anyway, especially if it was a hatchback.

True, but the fuel economy isn't. Do you think I'm a banker or something??

Anything less than 50MPG brings me out in a sweat.

Hitting a bollard looks worse.

I'm actually pretty good at parallel parking (city living), but have you seen a repair bill for a piece of plastic these days? Seriously, a ****ing wing mirror is about £400 if it folds electrically.

Well yeah, the trick is to obviously not hit them. I suppose my view is biased because I don't face the hazards you obviously do around a city. Fair enough.
