Try not to turn this political. It's quite funny.

WrinnaArraple 08-02-2012 04:09 AM

tbh i fail to see the lol. Kid keeps looking off to see if he said his line correctly clearly not made by him but by a right winged redneck (i think http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...es/tongue1.gif)
No funny moments in it.

You do realize:

2. Its a movie from a rightwinged site saying how Obama is evil, cant get more political.

I watched that earlier and was wondering whether to post it.

Is it actually poking fun at Obama, or Republicans for having beliefs about Obama and policies that could only be made up by a 6-year old? This one could easily backfire. I think it makes the GOP look like idiots.

I thought it was cute and funny how and what he was saying.

I highly doubt a 6-year-old would know about hospital waiting lists etc. You can tell from the out takes he's repeating what his parents want him to say

That's not what I meant - I meant having a 6 year old articulate real Republican propaganda about Obama could backfire, because those comments are literally childish.

gniewkoit 08-02-2012 04:24 AM

Childish and just exaggerated.

I understand the frustration, but lying about Obama is moving backward. There are plenty decent reasons to dislike the current administration, those settling with "long lines at the hospital" are not trying hard enough.

You think it is cute and funny that 30% of Americans have views that are the mirror image of a six year old's? I find it frightening.

Sounds like a brilliant way to appeal to voters who would already vote for you. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/wink1.gif

As Sparafucil already pointed out, about 30% of the population. Perhaps less. Mitt the Twit is just starting to slip behind where it counts (PA, FL and OH) - this won't help.

From the outside looking in, you would likely think the video is intended as satire. On the contrary, people actually believe the things that 6 year old is spewing out. One day I will post my compiled list of ridiculous chain-emails a few of my (conservative) family members forward. Just for LOLs of course.

I was listening to a John Lovitz and Dana Carvey interview where they (both longstanding liberals) bemoan the atmosphere where anything negative said about Obama is instantly equated as racist. How comedians are afraid to make fun of him. Electing Obama has actually set race relations back.

What does that have to do with this thread, or anything for that matter? Also, in the interview I listened to, he was more concerned about jokes about Obama being edited and taken out of context (usually by Fox) than saying people were scared of being labelled racists.

Comedians are almost without exception liberal. It's not a question of fearing Obama as them liking him. Can you think of a funny conservative comedian? I can't.

Groups like the Tea-Party that are pretty openly racist are ruining it for people that have legitimate criticisms of the Obama administration.

No, this was very specifically about reactions they receive if they make fun of him in any way. How it is a comedians job is to ridicule anyone in power simply because they are the man. How comedian's don't do that with Obama (not because they are in love with him) because they get labeled as racist, or that is somehow out of bounds when discussing obama.

As to comedians, sure they likely wouldn't be social conservatives, but you'd be hard pressed to say Dennis Miller has had no success in comedy.

“I think free speech is probably the coolest thing we have in this country and, again, you can label it hate speech and dismiss it, and then you’re allowed to censor it.” Dana Carvey

That doesn't sound anything like what you are saying. Their conversation was wholly about the dangerous atmosphere that has formed since obama took office that silences any negative portrayal of the president at all costs.

Without trying to cause an argument, in England a lot of comedians are pretty right wing.

toreesi 08-02-2012 08:19 AM

why do we need comedians when we have clowns in the Government http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...s/excited1.gif

It will turn political, and it will turn to a shitstorm because radicals cannot ever see the other sides point of view nor a middle ground to anything. That goes for radical left just as much as the right. And TBH, the main posters on this "forum" pretty much fit that bill. People can do anything if it makes fun of the right, the middle or conservatives and its considered " cool" and in some peoples minds actually correct. But if you ever speak against Obama or nod your head at a right, middle or conservative idea you are immediately labeled a tea party, racist, bibble-thumping, redneck...so much for open-mindedness, diversity and understanding...

Cute kid though :)
