Default Words first 6 Rotor Mazda engine.
It makes me . I can't wait for a dyno video so I can hear it at full song.

Freaking awesome!

Sounds like an American V8 idle, but I hear a hint of European V12 when opened up.

Get what, 10mpg maybe on the highway? lol

That thing is what, some 4L engine? Need a dyno!

I honestly do not know what to think of that, it sounds like a huge weedeater and it's so bulky.

I'm sure it puts out nice power though and it revs VERY quickly.

Hmm.

How about, well done on that achievement. Mankind moves forward again.

Rather than, what kind I find to complain about?

So you'll selectively quote something you can whine about?, leaving the rest out to try and portray me as "complaining".

Go ruin some other thread you tos-ser.

Thing is all people are doing here is re-inventing the wheel...

the epitrochoidal engineor to most people more commonly known as the wankle/rotary engine has been around for donkeys years..and was used in agricultural applications long before Mazda started using it as a money spinner.

anyway epitrochoidal engines are not as efficient as people think, they drink fuel and they have major wear issues with the apex seals.

its never been inconceivably hard to to build a multy rotor epitrochoidal engine, just like a 2 stroke diesel you just keep bolting them together

Be interesting to see what they've done for the crank support.
As you say, going to be mental noise on the dyno - and when they bolt two or three snails to it, going to be pushing 2500hp

True, but nearly everything these days is re-inventing the wheel. It's still progress, and is usually hampered by nay-sayers and people with adenoids saying "well it's ooooonly a little bit different".

theres a reason why these motors have never really taken off mate, and lets hope it has the individual firing sequence set out otherwise it will simply be a paired 3 rotor engine. (2 engines bolted together)

Nobody said it should take off, just that it's progress. It can only lead to us discovering something else and is doing no harm to anyone, so I really can't see anyone having any reason to moan about it.

Do you really buy this?

All that it's "advanced" is quarter mile times, that is all this will ever be used for, and all that it will ever be good for.

It won't "lead" anywhere except down a straight track.

Anything new is progress. If I didn't "buy it" we'd still be going everywhere on a carriage with a 1hp engine.

No, everything new is not progress, especially in this case.

It's cool for drag racing, but it's not changing the game in any way.

You're just trying to defend your own ignorance.

As I said it's very bulky, and as ohp pointed out, rotary's aren't very efficient.

I'd love to know the overall displacement.

Anyway, I won't derail it either, and I've said all that needs to be said anyhow.

This is nothing new, they have had 6 rotor wankel engines for ages.

The thread title is "Words first 6 Rotor Mazda engine.". Perhaps you can see where I got confused from that? Second word....

The key word is Mazda, not wankel. It's like someone putting together a 5cyl BMW engine and saying it's the first ever 5 cylinder BMW. And FM has never been "guinness world records" now has it

As to your thoughts on this being progress, well the guys who ran 6 rotor wankels where tractor pull guys, not the sterotype for advancement is it

When did you humiliate me? Maybe you did and I didn't notice? Either way, yeah I have some shite character traits. Don't get worked up about it though
