Another moment for Colorado...

http://kotaku.com/5927653/mass-shoot...rises-premiere

Never thought i'd find this on Kotaku. Apparently a lone gunman shoots up a theater, which is literally just down the street form me. I have one friend that I used to work with, who went with her young son and the rest of her family to see this movie, fortunately they were unharmed. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ilies/cry1.gif

Colorado has had a tough go, especially this year with the wild fires, and not to mention Columbine.

I work at Aurora South Hospital in the OR, which is about less than 5 min away. I expect i'll be getting a call to come in to work soon. 14 confirmed dead, upwards of 50 injured.

So sad, and SO frustrating that people do this. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ilies/mad1.gif

I was in that area a few months ago and some friends live in Cherry Creek. I hope they are all OK.

A couple of other friends live in Littleton, what a lovely place. It's hard to believe that someone went on the rampage there.

Tis a world full of broken people we live in, truly a shame. Hopefully this doesn't detract from anyone's screening later on today. Be safe out there.

I'm thinking that instead of buying guns, people should be buying vests.

I happen to think America is so saturated with guns (black market ect) that I personally can walk down my street and buy a gun easier than i could pick up a bullet proof vest. Course the effing cartel owns two clubs nearby and cartel members are living down the street from me. May be different in other states, but im getting off track. Have to say as tragic as this is, I'm still stoked about seeing some good ol fashioned vigilante justice. With all the political BS surrounding this movie just remember to be careful out there.

I have a feeling this has something to do with the movie... Was he trying to be Bane? Or a a city terrorizer?

I think that the last thing the country needs is some vigilante justice.

(We're starting to sound like the script to The Dark Knight now)

I imagine its because it put the occupy movement in a bad light? But who knows...

That's ridiculous.
Exactly! There is no telling, and i doubt we'll find out.

Yeah I guess. Thankfully for once they managed to arrest the shooter unhurt, that will help clear up things quickly rather than initiate weeks of speculation.

Prererularl 07-20-2012 07:45 PM

I'm reading reports that this shooter was egged on in 9gag, and it had been discussed for weeks - thank god 4chan never reached the public eye like 9gag. If true this is a perfect example of why all troll brigades should be dismantled from within.

I live in Denver and I also woke up to this terrible news!!!! This is a sad moment!!
I am now kind of paranoid to go see the movie or even go to the movie theater.

Twendypreency 07-20-2012 08:34 PM

Only going to sadden the mood for me. If anyone's crazy enough to pull a gun in a Texas theater.. hah; well i just don't think anyone's crazy enough to do that here. And if they are, well they'll have at least half a dozen hand guns from random permitted audience members to deal with first.

Yes, a massive shoot-out between various people would certainly have helped the situation.

Also anyone crazy enough to pull a gun, is crazy enough to do it anywhere, regardless of how many license to carry holders in the area.
