Would you be typing the same thing from your domestically produced $15,000 computer? ![]() Are you implying that China's richest use tax shelters? Why would they even need them? Are you saying that American business men don't dodge taxes? They do. Are you saying that if we produced all of our goods domestically, we wouldn't be able to afford them? I submit that we would. or Are you implying that businesses are encouraged to produce cheaper goods using foreign labor, and that we in the first world countries all feed off of the pain and suffering inflicted on the 3rd? I think you mean this one. And you might have a point, except that there are key differences between us and the richest .00001%. For example, we don't actively go out of our way to screw over the rest of the population, while they do. We don't have the power to redistribute what little wealth we have to people, and if we did the amount of money wouldn't make a difference. They do have that power, and it would make a huge difference. We don't have the potential to influence lawmakers into doing our bidding by ourselves, they do. I could go on, I think you get the point. |

Not true, but keep ****ing that chicken. Also take a look at the nation debt clock here http://www.usdebtclock.org/ As you can see the avg dept is 50k per citizen that's almost twice the amount we had before he got into office. Also look at the food stamp recipients of 45 million people?! |

Since Obama has been in office the US debt has increased over 5 trillion dollars in less than 4 years. Bush put us 4 trillion in debt in 8 years. No charts or graphs you can find will show otherwise. Taking from Obama's own words "4 trillion in dept is unpatriotic". Also we have more people on welfare than ever before and last months jobs numbers showed that more people filed for disability than they were jobs created. Obama is doing just fine. 2009 (Bush's approved Budget) was the worst deficit of the Obama era. |

Your correct congress has not approved a budget. But Obama was the one who ran on hope and change and didn't deliver. Now I think it's time for him to be replaced. I'm a conservative leaning independent and I was willing to give Obama a chance because I believed in some of the things he was campaigning on. I now thoroughly despise him and am generally disgusted with our country. Take the healthcare law as a shining example of our government's ineptitude. All sorts of bullshit went down and the law only made it's way through the system because they abused loopholes like I just abused the area between my girlfriend's legs (I'm 1 part black ya know). And now we have a SCOTUS ruling that basically says the government can require you to buy 12 pounds of cheese each year or be taxed for not buying it...I know that it'll never happen, but the fact that they've opened that door sickens me. Congress Almighty. Another thing is that we all know Bush was a terrible president, but Obama supporters can only seem to say "But look at what Bush did worse" yet nobody ever compares him to a GOOD president. If all you can do is show us how he's slightly better than a terrible president then maybe it's time to realize he's just 1 step above a terrible president and choose someone good. And then we have his opposition...Mittens... Ugh. Dumb and Dumber. WTF America...WTF. Not that it even matters who we have as president anymore. Our entire government, among many things, is SO messed up right now that it just plain doesn't matter. So much is broken in this country that it's going to take a long time and lots of hard work to fix this ship. |

I think most of us are disappointed in President obama, but he was given a poisoned chalise on many levels*.
A 'war' on two fronts with no easy way out due to the total idiocy of the previous administration. A huge debt, internal and external, inherited from the previous administration and no easy way to avoid increasing it. Large (temporary...) tax cuts for the super wealthy. later in his administration, Republican control in the house and their determination to do anything they could to damage him - the consequences to the rest of the country seems to have had NO consideration in their minds - just pure greed and aminosity! IMO, he 'jumped the shark' when he started running the sleeze/personal attack adverts. *This is why I, personally, am of the opinion that McCain actually chose that lunatic witch for a running mate as an attempt to throw his presidential run out the window when he realised just what a mess President Bush made with his hellspawn aides in the administration! i don't actually hold President Bush that accountable, I think he was primarily a figurehead for all the other dispicable, corrupt, evil men who were directing him and benefiting from the 'wars'! Regardless of how poor ajob some may think he's done, I am strongly of the opinion that if the Republicans had got in, the situation would have been a heck of a lot worse - possibly to the point of the US effectively being bankrupt and unable to meet the terms of their loans - especially if some of the foreign banks called in some of their loans and/or stopped lending to the US! |

Regardless if it matters or not, it's an effective tool to utilize. This just isn't the Republicans' year; they have a lackluster candidate going up against grounded Democratic base. As soon as the Republican party sheds that tea party monstrosity the quicker they will get back on track. As for this article - it is sickening, and it's really a gross breach of the social contract. One of the reasons America (and even Britain for that matter) became powerful countries and economies, is because the wealth was traditionally poured back into the infrastructure of the country. This isn't happening now, and only time will tell what effect this will have in the coming decades and centuries. |

I only care what they are going to do to get this country back on track. I appreciate that it's an accepted idiom these days, but really, it makes you look nearly as stupid as when us Brits say....actually I can't think of anything off the top of my head, but I know we say plenty of stupid things. |

I would give the Hippocratic crown to the a bunch of vain, greedy and proud Bible-thumpers that are for the killing of God's creatures. And all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the first born of Pharaoh that sitteth upon his throne, even unto the firstborn of the maidservant that is behind the mill; and all the firstborn of beasts. God was a badass. But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt. Turned the dude's wife to salt just for looking back. That's HARDCORE. It's all good though, he had some daughters to take care of him. |

I read an article today in the NYT talking about the Republicans in California being at their lowest point in decades. Even though California's economy is shot to crap, their politicians are inept at best and corrupt at worse, no one wants to vote Republican. Why? Because while their fiscal policies make occasional sense (occasional is the operative word) at a local level, it comes with a huge amount of social conservative baggage. If they could just STFU about gays, immigrants and women's rights for 2 seconds, they might be electable, even in California. --- Post Update --- They could start by teaching Americans the difference between "could care less" and "couldn't care less". |
