Well, if he did nothing illegal, there is nothing wrong to say about Mitt. If he could pay 0% tax legally, how can one get pissed off at a man doing his taxes that the government requires him to be doing, and fallowed TurboTax advice?

What is wrong is the tax code, and anyone in government who doesn't want to fix the issue. Though, im sure it is hard to fix the issue when all the key players in government would be effected by higher taxes. They are out for their best interest as well, so it would really be hard to trust those guys to increase their own taxes and close the vary loopholes that they themselves use.
There's a huge difference between having good tax planning and striving as hard as possible to pay as little taxes as possible including using every tax trick known and offloading as much money as possible to tax havens to avoid taxes.

Nice contribution to society.

Both of those procedures come under the dubious heading of "tax efficiency" from accountants.

Yes but while one may be considered as completely normal and moral, as in, only paying the taxes and tax rate that you should pay. The other goes to the extreme of digging everywhere to find a hole to hide as much money as possible from the state, usually by using offshore accounts, dubious accounting and some incredible accounting gymnastics through loop holes in the tax code.

Of course all of this can be avoided if tax loopholes are removed, especially the deliberate ones.

Even if the tax avoidance is technically legal, it's certainly the action of a greedy sod who feels his wealth is more important than his country's finances and, as such, it's the action of an immoral scoundrel!

My point was that it's a muddy water that accountants like to take advantage of.

The conservatives over here are complete tossers and trying to get the headlines away from bankers and rich tax avoiders by saying that, paying cash-in-hand to a plumber is morally corrupt. Yes it is. But there are bigger fish to fry than plumbers et al earning a couple-hundred quid, off the books, now and then.

Exactly. People need to get out automatically cutting their choices down to the two.

It is true, a vote for a third candidate is basically just a wasted vote. In this particular election though, I'm pretty sure a vote for anyone other than Obama is going to be a wasted vote though, so since you're wasting your vote either way, why not vote for who you actually care about?

None because too many people think like that, therefore if anyone wants change this mindset has to change for everyone who votes no matter which party they are in or for.

Heck, look at Germany, they founded a pirate party there with nothing and made huge gains just appealing to people who where sick with the exisiting choices (they manage to have 6 choices that all suck).

That was a little harsh but it's true, your delegate system with state electoral votes is horrible.

If you vote for an independent, you're basically wasting a vote.
