I am thinking about getting one for decoration, or maybe to tinker with. Is anyone familiar with this area?

The closest I can relate is back when I was a pizza maker, we used what must have been a decades old manual scale, with all the accessory weights and everything. I think it was made of brass.

if you ever see a old pharmacy closing down...... you might be able to pick up one of those priceless gems
