Optimized stock ATT-based ROMs for US based version of Samsung Galaxy S III make this phone an Android dream machine. Its large enough to compete with Nexus 7 in size. Its a phone with 4G connection and is super responsive. It will have 4.1 update either from official or custom ROM developers in the near future. Beta is out already.
US version is supposedly slightly superior to thr international one, but I never tried the intertional version. This one is absolutely awesome! |

Isn't the Nexus 7 a tablet?
If so, the new BMW M3 is a Harry's 4 cheese pizza killer to me. Though Harry's pizza taste better, the M3 has better handling. Since I can only choose one of these two things, I am going to take the M3. Quantum, when choosing between the car or the pizza, would you take a new Kindle or a vacation? What is the battery life on a pet rhinoceros, BTW? Thanks for the informative thread as usual Brat. |

Anyways, not really a fair comparison either. Nexus 7 is $200/$250 straight up and directly supported by Google. S3 is directly supported by Samsung and costs $600/$650 straight up. I would say though, that if you tether, having a tablet with just a 2" larger screen wouldn't really be worth it. Rather spend the $200 on a smartphone with contract and get a $600 Infiniti tablet with the S4 when it comes out. |

Something amazing happened here.
The only person that really understood the OP was reddog. Perhaps it was just written in a language that only they can comprehend. Let's continue to watch, hopefully it was not a retard and run by the OP. Maybe we will get enough back and forth that we can produce a translation slate for future generation to understand this unique form of thought. |

I wouldn't really say that it is superior. Just different. The GPU is going to be a little better in the international, and the CPU wise should be roughly the same, but the International is a Quad, while the US is Dual which has its key advantages. The big differences would be 28nm on the USA version and 4g SoC. ![]() |

Actually, anyone with a common sense would see that tablets are simply inflated smartphones, but at times without 3G/4G connection, a bigger/nicer screen, and nicer hardware. Those who don't care for a big screen and know that some smartphones are just as fast, if not faster, than many of the tablets.
Both Nexus 7 and Galaxy S III are Android devices, one with ICS 4.0.4 (will be upgraded to JB 4.1), and the other with JB 4.1. Both are fast, and Galaxy S III screen is rather large. It is large enough and the phone's hardware is fast enough to do just about every tablet task Nexus 7 can do, but S III has more features (4G, front-faced camera, smaller size is preferred by many!). Also, specifically regarding Nexus 7 - it is much smaller than iPad and several mainstream tablets/competitors, which means it has a small screen, which means the screen size is more comparable to smartphones screen sizes than other tablets. Galaxy S III is more expensive, but with AT&T renewal plan or just new contract it costs $200 and now $150! So, Samsung Galaxy S III is amazing, and it is a Nexus 7 killer for me! |
