Keep getting better Will.
You know I can empathize with everything you said. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/blush1.gif |
I know how it feels will. I was all doped up for almost two weeks on norco and direct injections of morphine. When I got home I maybe took one or two pain killers and promised myself I wouldnt take anymore.
I also am going to physical therapy and it sucks! I hate having to learn how to walk again. :/ Also, about two days off the pain killers and you should be able to poo normal. |

IRL, I'd say that to you sober faced but when finished I'd wait until I saw if you'd got it and, if so, I'd break into a http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...s/biggrin1.gif - unfortunately, sometimes I make the mistake of thinking they 'got it' when they were just getting http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ilies/mad1.gif, in which case a http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...s/biggrin1.gif would sometimes result in 'less favourable' consequences http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/laugh1.gif. I expect you do exactly the same thing on occasion, to wind someone up by seeming to take them seriously in order to get them even more wound up - hopefully not this time, though, 'cause it'll have worked a treat on me http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/laugh1.gif |

As the others have said, Will, longer it's allowed to build up, worse it seems - personally, I find the frustration of not being able to do things while healing is perhaps the most frustrating, lower body injuries being the worst and arm/hand ones being less so as I could still get around after a fashion. I think the last break was a hand, and that was only a mild hassle as I could still use the fingers to some extent - was still off work for around 3 months, IIRC.
If you were really bad, the GF would have let you know, but just doing things around the house can help remove the frustration of feeling useless. While it id a hassle, better to look after it through this recovery, rather than risk it re-curring because of poor healing. As an aside, most of the time we'll just be prescribed paracetamol or a paracetamol/codeine (500mg paracetamol & 8mg codeine phosphate) for pain relief. A few times I've been given some really strong stuff but only allowed one a day and no more than three days in a row. For muscle/soft tissue injuries, etc, I actually prefer asprin/disprin as it seems to work better - perhaps because of the blood vessels dilating and the blood thinning properties that encourage blood flow? I believe you can use both (para' and asprin based), to good affect, as they work in quite different ways in the body? |
The Internets great. You can make a serious comment, than later pretend it was sarcasm or dry humor.
I didn't realise Will was having issues. When I had problems, it was stopping me going out even though I wanted to, but it was a physical thing more than mental. So after hospital, morphine, tramadol and everything that comes with it, I couldn't wait to get out and walk anywhere or do anything. Because I hadn't been able to for the few years before. So, I do find it hard to relate to metal problems. I'm lucky enough to not have been effected in that way. It's maybe best to create a plan of what you want to achieve in the day, then make sure you do it. Just baby steps. You probably are doing something similar, so keep it up. As long as things are going in the right direction. |

Im starting to drive now, so it's been a lot better lately. I am going to be in therapy for at least another 2-3 weeks until I start walking normal again. I hate being stuck in the damn house, which is weird considering I would rather not go anywhere normally. |
