So back in 2008 I purchased my first ever Mazdaspeed3 Sport.
![]() Added some goodies to the car later on to make it breathe better. ![]() Coming home late from memorial day 5/28/12 a lady decided to cross an intersection with disregard to her light being RED and just missed the truck beside me and instead meeting up with my car. I t-boned her 2010 Corolla. My MS3 was deemed totaled a few days later. Had witnesses so she got a citation and her insurance paid off my 2008 MS3, and I ended up with positive equity. ![]() ![]() A few days later I visit the dealership where I bought the 2008 Mazdaspeed 3 to take a look at CX-5s. I go back Saturday to test drive the CX-5 and was told that an rare shipment of a Red 2012 Mazdaspeed3 came in that morning. Well, I couldn't help it and decided to put $3k down and now I got my Zoom-Zoom back! ![]() ![]() Fresh off the truck with only 5 miles. ![]() I ARE HAPPY. ![]() |

Nice, I considered the Mazda 3 MPS (UK name for the Mazdaspeed3) when I was buying, but the tax/insurance and fuel consumption was a bit too high for my taste. Ended up with the 185PS Turbo Diesel instead. Do prefer the bonet/spoiler combo on the speed and the 18" wheels suit the body size better.
Edit: Seriously considering one of these next year: ![]() |

Torque steer has improved compared to my old Mazdaspeed 3 but it's a tad bit slower since the old car had a Short Ram intake and Bypass Valve that I installed. I'm still babying the car especially during the break in period so no extreme acceleration for the first 600 miles. The new MS3 is much more refined and easier to drive. More tech toys as well even in the sport model.
![]() ![]() ![]() --- Post Update --- They are Dunlop tires didn't take a close look at the size yet and it's raining outside atm. ![]() |
