I'm sure if I gave you a blank map of the UK you probably couldn't even tell me where Manchester is even on the map, just like circa 99.9% of all the other Manchester City/United supporters, or even foreigners, possibly even Brits who "follow" football. And we have quite a few City players in the national team.

The big problem with England is that we have far too many foreign players; rules should come in that each first team should have 1 youth academy player and 3 English players.
I appreciate the effort, but I have no idea where you are going with this. Are you calling me a bandwagon Man City fan? Or are you suggesting that I do not understand the geography of the UK?

To clarify, I only watch Premier League games when they are on and have nothing else to do. I tend to like international soccer the most. And I checked, you are absolutely right about Manchester, I was way off.

I want to find the insult in this, but I do not understand. Sorry.

--- Post Update ---

I'm sure you know better than me, but I thought (and remember being told whilst in Den Haag at great length) that Holland is just one region of The Netherlands, and people not in that region don't like the name being synonymous with the whole country.
This is precisely how I understand it, hence my original concern.

It was a general comment about international football supporters, particularly those in the far east. But still, you made a claim and you were terribly wrong.

BTW, Manchester has two [major] clubs. I'm sure you just insulted every Man U and Man City supporter on Earth

Been saying this for years expect the other way around, only 2-3 foreign players per team!

Would after a few years boost the England squad so much we would be unstoppable
No, the Premier League would lose its status, and our best players would move abroad, just like in the 80's. England is crap because the English mentality doesn't value winners - not because there has been an influx of foreigners into the Premier League.

I said "best" players as defined by top scorers. BTW, Manchester has two [major] clubs. Ok, I know this (I think most people do). I am just saying that I took your test, looked at a map and thought that Manchester was where Bristol is. That does not really have any bearing on the argument though, tbh.

Wait, only players that score are "good". GTFO of this thread. This is football not basketball.

Goal keepers, defenders, mid-fielders, wingers can't be 'best players' then?

You should stick to street racing.

What a pale performance from Dutch players against Germany.
Down 0:2 in a halftime.

Notice the "quotes". My goodness you ****s are testy, both of you admitted that there are too many foreigners in the English league, I am saying the same thing.

And basketball is no different, defense wins championships.

Finally, how do you even quantify best? I was making a quick statement.

I'm sure you know better than me, but I thought (and remember being told whilst in Den Haag at great length) that Holland is just one region of The Netherlands,
The Netherlands is divided into 12 "provinces". Two of them are "Noord-Holland" and "Zuid-Holland" translation = North & South Holland (even though they are in the west).
Holland is just another name for The Netherlands.
and people not in that region don't like the name being synonymous with the whole country.
I've never heard about this. When dutch people refer to holland they are never referring to the provinces North & South Holland.

Yep.. the germans weren't even trying!! Just walking around finding their way to the goal no probs . Coach should've put huntelaar in from the start, or the new guy (narsing) rather than kuyt who just sucks nowadays. Also one of the defenders (who got owned all the time, Jetro Willems) just turned 18!!! Last year he played in the 1st division in the netherlands, which is the league BEFORE the eredivisie..and now he's up one of the best players in the world! LMAO!!!!

It was only 2:1, not exactly a thrashing.

Final scores don't always tell the full story though. Germany out played then for the most part. Robben being a **** doesn't help neither. From world cup finalists to failures is pretty big change in 2 years. Out of their hands now as well. Portugal Holland will be a cracker now. But whether they will have a coach or even do a France may happen even before that.

Erm, did you watch the match?

Germany could have been 4 - 0 up at half time (well 4 -1, because RVP missed a sitter), Gomez was immense, and they were knocking the ball around for fun in the 2nd half until RVP scored, then when the Dutch gave them a bit of pressure at the end they just soaked it up and stayed calm until the finish.

Ruthlessly organized all over the park and pretty impressive tbh, even their defenders are happy going forward...

The point is, they didn't go 4-0 up and still conceded a goal to a team playing poorly. It could have easily ended 2-2.

Not with numbers. FIFA games can try do this, but it's too general.

point is you don;t judge a game by its final score, you judge it by how the teams played
