Faith in humanity restored!

I don't really do these kinds of threads but after reading this when I got up it just blew my mind and I had to share it.

Above is a video of a 68-year-old bus monitor named Karen Klein being verbally harassed by a group of middle schoolers on their way home from Athena Middle School in Greece, New York. Throughout the ten minute video, you can hear the kids verbally berate the woman, calling her a bitch, fatass, poor, ugly, and various other words of the like. At one point in the video, you can hear one of the kids yell, “You’re so ****in poor you fat ass,” in which Karen responds, “I try to live by some of these words, I try and it’s really hard,” referring to the words on her purse. Now, I don’t know about you, but that broke my ****ing heart. There’s even a point in the video where one of the kids touches Karen’s arm in an attempt to make fun of her. I’m not sure why these kids would want to bully a senior citizen to tears, but I feel we should do something, or at least try.

She doesn't earn nearly enough ($15,506) to deal with some of the trash she is surrounded by. Lets give her something she will never forget, a vacation of a lifetime! http://www.indiegogo.com/loveforkarenhklein

The amount people have put forward so far is amazing considering the initial goal. This could easily go up to insane levels considering there is still 30 days left.

Hopefully Karma will ad those kids names to the long list of names on the Darwin awards website. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/devil1.gif

Kids these days have no respect, and that means anywhere in the world too.

She showed a hell of a lot of restraint.

I hope the parents are Proud for the little b@stards they've brought up.

Good enough reason for using Condoms and advocating Abortion, right there on that bus. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...es/tongue1.gif

Awesome, she can retire and **** the little wankers.

There are many adults who are just as bad, several of which post on this forum.

They started off like those kids and were never corrected.

I hope the internet hate machine ****s up their lives.

GaxyGroordrep 06-22-2012 05:27 AM

Those kids are vile... If I was on that bus I wud have punched them in the nose. They need to learn respect for the poor old lady.

Eujacwta 06-22-2012 05:29 AM

Faith in humanity is not restored!

Those kids need to be beat, but not even their parents could if they wanted to. Child protection services could be called in a heart beat.

I don't ever remember witnessing such strong bullying in my school days as what we have now. Have things really gotten that bad with bullying? What are those who are 10 years younger than me missing or what has made them so vile/angry?

I think it is because people cannot see much future with the state of the world etc. and also the mainsteam media and entertainment shown to children is no longer censored at all and practically encourages this sort of thing... Jeez I am only 27 and I am sounding like an old man here but really it is true. Kids dont seem to have any respect for adults anymore.

So we got nothing to lose lets act like a$$holes? This is a simplebreakdown of parent not teaching their offspring repect and manners. We are too much of a liberal PC BS society now. We should turn to our grandparents for advice on this one. Do onto others as you wish done onto yourself, it's not complicated.

The answer is complex but a major part of it is that both Parents need to work now and a lot of kids are latchkey kids or daycare kids. Parents come home from work... They are tired. IMO it seems rare to see a mother and father that both work 8 hour shifts to come home and cook a meal from scratch. These days it seems take out, delivery, or partially premade foods are the way to go. Parents are tired when they come from home so they dont spend as much time with kids, I don't blame them for feeling this way but when you decide to have a kid you need to think about these things. I don't want children because I want to raise my children and be there all the time. I can't do that with a career. Raising a child is expensive and not a part time when you feel like it job. Many people IMO don't deserve kids or shouldn't have kids due to their financial situation.

Where I live to raise a child in the city (family of 3) you need a 120k+ household income and thats if you are counting each penny.

I have a 2 bedroom condo in the city and the mortgage and condo fee (doesnt cover electric/cable/internet) is 2600 a month. Most of my co-workers with 2 or more kids are all dealing with 3k+ mortgages. It is just too expensive.

I think the cost of education, housing, and insurance in this country is absurd. This is causing more and more moms and stay at home dads to to back to work sooner after a child is born.

The less interaction a child has with their parents to learn whats right and wrong, how to behave, and so on... The more they learn from their peers which more often than not are also ****ed up.

Kids are always on a knife edge... You pull too hard on them and they fall off... push too hard and let them go on their own and they fall off... You need to continuously keep them balanced/on the path and eventually they start to realize this... And start to balance them selves on issues/dilemmas/choices and so on... Thats how I was raised...

plantBanceper 06-22-2012 01:04 PM

latch/key kids have been around for decades (centuries), so that shouldn't be a major factor - what is, IMO, is that the kids of today are spoiled rotten and have not been brought up with any feeling of responsibility, either for chores and other things to do for the family or for their actions as they're 'just children'.

Stupid parents and stupid PC liberals, imo, are the reason for this!

The hate machine is going strong it seems. Their names, addresses and phone numbers are now being freely passed about on the interwebs.

That pretty much explains it.

Totally agree with that statement.

Exactly what I wanted to say, but couldn't find the right words. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/blush1.gif

Not sure what political correctness has anything to do with this, and I'd bet good money that their parents are not granola-eating, ivy-educated libs.
