Default Newer and faster servers - Seems slow to me!
I thought the forums where moved to fast servers? I have had more timeouts and slow page loads since the move.

It's slow for me as well. We are both in the UK (@ OP), it might be a server in the US?

Very slow here for me in the UK on Virgin Media 100mb. My speed is just fine but loading the forums here takes 3 to 5 secs for each page and is very laggy

The forum was much faster before, pages loaded instantly.

Can't do ping or tracert test from command prompt as they seem to be blocked.

FM has always been one of the slowest sites on the web for me, I have a 25/25 line and should be no reason the home page takes 5 seconds or longer to load considering virtually every other site I visit is in the 1 second range or faster. Oh well, I have become use to it now...

Are you on Virgin? If other UK users are finding it quick then it's more than likely a DNS issue or even ISP caching problems. To be honest, there isn't really any way to tell exactly without access to Virgin's systems (for me at least).

I'm on a Google DNS and it's fast. It's never been slow for me in fact.

Are you using their standard DNS server?

Virgin's DNS servers are quick for me so I have always stuck with them. Did try OpenDNS and Google DNS via the router just now but they personally made no difference to the loading of the futuremark forums.

Have tried those two DNS severs in the past and they made no noticeable difference compared with Virgin when loading many different sites.

Let me guess you're using Firefox with a crap load of add ons? Maybe that's the problem.
