I saw him recently, in a film called Edge of Darkness I think, and I quite enjoyed that.

You're just saying that because he's the most public one. I expect that there are a lot of people, of both sexes, that make him seem quite moderate, considering the supplying of drugs to performers, casting couches, pimping and procuring and the like.

Biggest jerks in Hollywood are always agents/industry executives.

The only people that know the answers are in the industry.

The top director's, producer's whom if you cross in any way blacklist you. Gibson is a loud temper tantrum that lets his mouth run anti-semitic marathons when drunk, but unless you are his girlfriend he isn't much threat You can look at the type of people who stick by him (jody foster, whoopie, etc) and get the sense that alcohol is his real problem.

I think the biggest "jerks" are probably the ones you do not hear about. My uncle is an Emmy winning cameraman, and the stories he has will blow your mind. Apparently Billy Crystal is a total *******.

Co-incidentally, just read a short article on Charles Mesure (NZ actor working in LA) and when asked "What's the hardest lesson you've had to learn since living in LA", he replied
"Life is nasty, brutish and short. And so are many of the people in this industry."

After watching that clip, I feel like I don't need to watch the movie.

When I was a kid I was watching those before-the-movie factoids, and it claimed that Cameron Diaz would only wash her face with Dasani bottled water. Not that it helped her much mind you, but I still found that to be a tad ridiculous.

You really should. 2 reasons. The fan made stuff is really good. They actually make a good argument that at a certain point, society owns the originals, regardless if Lucas wishes otherwise and would prefer them to disintegrate. It is strange to see lucas become the empire. It seems to me that the people have a right to see the film that was entered into the library of congress' national film registry, and won all the academy awards, not the 30 year later revision that neuters much of the film.

Han shot first, dammit.

Excellent film, probably his best as an Actor since Braveheart.

As for hating Mel Gibson, I don't really understand it, so he has a problem with authority and Jews? Who doesn't?

The only people that hate mel gibson are those with political agenda. Truth is he's got more talent in his little pinky than most of his detractors. If you think your drunken musings are safe from prying ears.. just give it some time. You may not be important enough to stir the media, but one day ... somewhere down the road; if we allow things to continue as they have.. we will all be accountable for the **** we rattled off while drunk out of our mind.

People that are shocked and mortified by his drunken ramblings must live like a hermit in a basement. Spend 30 minutes in a bar and you will hear things 100x worse.
