I use this and I've never had a problem with battery life. Although I doubt it is much/if any better than what you are using.
Thanks for the info. I think it boils down to how much I actually use my phone (which is a lot). The screen by far takes up the majority of battery life. Having that said, the SGN is still a great phone. I love the amount of support for it.

Pretty bonkers. I wish more hardware developers would take Apple's approach of putting ginormous batteries in their devices. I love my Galaxy Nexus, but my lord the battery life is horrendous.
Asus Transformer gets just as good and better battery life. Battery is half the size too.

My Transformer gets like 9 hours on battery. Amazing, that is with WiFi enabled all the time and using it heavily.

Turn the screen brightness all the way up and I have 5+~ hours of pure HD goodness.

Think about the hops.

PC, to wifi to cell to cell tower to backbone. You're going to get variability in that continuously - from what I can tell, pings on 4g are usually 30 - 70 msecs... my wifi is usually 22 - 30 msecs and when on wired, I can get 15 - 20 msecs.

Maybe some people can test and report back.
Best ping I have seen on my phone is high 20s but it is usually in the 40s.

Hmmm, I don't think mine is that bad and I am using the stock battery. Are you using a stock rom or?
That is because you have the GSM version, LTE phones suck batteries dry. Also as Acu mentioned, screen on time decimates the battery.

The most impressive part is that the iPad can be an LTE hotspot for that long.

Why would you want such DL speeds on your phone?

Okai well here in my country unlimited plans don't exist anymore since WhatsApp came along... Also, buying movies? What format are they? I don't know anybody who bought a movie on their phone even on WiFi.

Netflix. Connect your phone to your TV and then stream HD movies.

Updating apps, loading in images, streaming music from the cloud with no pauses or buffering, watching HD YoutTube videos, general browsing, everything really. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/laugh1.gif

Its not even available in Germany (Europe?).

I do none of these things. Why would I want to watch a HD movie on my freakin telephone?

Ok, general browsing is better on faster lines, but to be honest I dont have a problem with waiting 1/10th of a second longer for a homepage to load.

Faster is always better, so once we can get these things here too I wont complain, but right now I wouldnt need those speeds.

Whilst LTE is such a battery killer, I will make do with my paltry HSPA+. If I want to stream movies to my TV, I can use WIFI. Very handy if you travelled a lot, but, again, HSPA is hardly causing drops/issues with streaming.

We have 7mbps with HSDPA here, that's more than enough to do the things you mentioned... but we don't do it because there's the data limit
Also there's WiFI everywhere.

Netflix is in the UK.

The raw speeds can be seen across the board from loading a heavy webpage to a HD YouTube video playing instantly.

Anyway, HSPA+ speeds aren't even necessary on a phone but fast is always better and for people that listen/watch a lot of media on their phone, it is fantastic.
