Default Why I hate Windows 8
Because it 8 my SSD.

PC won't even post with my SSD installed. Was working flawlessly up until I installed Windows 8. Went to sleep, woke up, PC wouldn't come out of sleep. I'm gonna go back to windows 7 while my Revodrive is still alive, at least I think it's alive...my PC is still lying in pieces on the living room floor. Probably just coincidence, but I didn't really like Windows 8 anyway. It wasn't a better performer than Windows 7, and I hate the new UI.

It's bricked. Tried it in another PC as well as using my external dock.

I remember having lost a harddrive to the sleep function back when I was using Win98.

I never used that function again ever since.

I agree. I am always amazed by silly threads like this that blame a OS for hardware failure. The logic of some make you wonder if they even have a fully functional brain or not.

Indilinx.

I think I MAY have fixed it. I managed to get it into engineering mode and run the destructive flash utility. I now have it in my external docking station showing up properly as a 60gb agility. Appears to function, and have newer firmware now, yay... Copying windows setup to a 4gb partition on it then gonna throw it back in my main rig and see how it runs.

Something raped that drive and didn't bother to use lube.

You do realize that certain drivers, software, etc. can cause hardware to malfunction right? Example: If I install Windows 7 64-bit and then install a game using a certain version of Starforce it will EAT THE PARTITION ON MY SSD. At first I thought it was just coincidence, so I reinstalled windows and then the game.. 5 times in a row. All 5 times it nom nom nom'd on my drive. Starforce is evil.

Edit: Back up and running. Every single one of my drives had errors except the revodrive, which is PCIE and not SATA.

To be fair Hardware failure is not black and white it can be drivers, firmware, software, windows blah blah

I've already had three SSD's fail on me not to mention it only takes a couple of BSOD's to completely hose the install. Windows didn't kill your SSD my friend, it simply died. They are like vid cards, they work for a year or so and then they die.

Other than starforce hosing my drive and this issue my SSDs have been rock solid. This is an OCZ Agility drive. Probably older than anything you have in your PC. Not sure why you have such bad luck, but I can't remember the last time I had a BSOD. Only recent random hardware failures for me were onboard video on a gigabyte board and a WD green drive that died after 10 hours.

I also tweak everything. Overclock, custom firmware, etc. My HD6950 runs the 6970 bios. Has been since I got it. I guess I'm just lucky.

At this point the most likely culprit is a stock windows 8 driver not playing well with my chipset. I have a total of 6 SATA drives in my PC. 1 SSD 5 HDDs. Every drive had problems from this, but only my SSD was hit hard. Same with starforce, which only affected my SSD. Crappy drivers can cause havoc.

No what i mean is when you are trying for your max stable CPU/RAM whatever clocks on a new setup for example, sometimes you push too hard and get BSODs and that's when the SSD's crap out pretty quick unlike good ol regular drives.

And yeah i've lost three SSD's for some reason. The first one was Imation 60GB one of the first gen drives, then the next two were ****ing OCZ and I'm never going to buy an OCZ SDD ever again.
