At home, one teenager gone to a party and spending the night with her friends (and glad none of them can drive yet). One young adult home (after getting stuck in a ditch, the car is not damaged, he decided to bring home a friend and I am relieved). Roads are bad this evening, rain is making highways and rural roads quite a skate rink. So home with hubby, my son and friend and my mom. Good Moroccan food, good wine and even some Champagne. Happy New Year to All of you!

quiet and solo in Boston as my kids are with my ex tonight. Quite a change after a week of visiting with family and friends....But any loneliness will soon evaporate as I catch an early flight to SDQ in the am to be with my wife and in-laws. And of course I continue to pray ( and work) for the coming year of 2012 and holidays when my love and I (God willing) will be together for our first Christmas. Happy 2012 DR1ers.

At home digging up an old 70timer namely a fondue with home made minced meat balls with all kind of spices and herbs and bacon and pork and sausages etc...and of course a home made aromatic oil to fondue with.

But first a nice pate with a good glass of wine...think of it...its time to start on that one

Champagne is standing by in the fridge!

Happy 2012 to all!

At home in the barrio, barbecuing chicken wings and ribs for us and the neighbours. Music already crazy all over the place.
Happy New Year DR1ers, with a special thought for those who are apart from their loved ones, in other countries or looking down from on high.

worked most of the day. now alone at home. well, with cats and dogs. miesposo went to spend the evening with his parents, bless him.
i have nothing to eat (still did not do any shopping - too many people). come to think of it i may have a can of garbanzos so maybe i can make hummus. and there is a baguette. and a can of dr pepper.
all is well, then!

never felt the urge to spend this day any different. it's depressing enough i am getting closer yet to 40. that seriously sucks

And let's dance and hope 2012 will bring good news to each and everyone of you. Sorry in French, but so much sunshine in the rythm.

In Caracas, Venezuela at the Marriott hotel.

Unfortunately the new job has taken me away from these shores for foreign climes. But it's a contract job and I still get to come home to Cabarete. At least i was home for Christmas to spend my first Christmas with my newborn twins.

The day (yesterday) started pretty good. At my in-laws basically just watching the constant parade of people coming and going through their house. Sat quietly with my glass of wine and praying no one would really notice me. I just was not in the mood for usual sad stories of those looking for "a little help". Had some really good food, lasagna, meatballs, rice, beans, baked chicken, potato salad. I am not sure if it was the wine , the constant flow of people, loud music or what have you but I developed the worst headache and went to lay down. Next thing I know it was 1:30 am. My son tells me I didn't miss much. God I feel old.
