Google also has a petition that you can sign digitally here

CializCialiscsqw 01-19-2012 01:00 AM

So has XDA for US members. When 50K have signed it, the site goes back online. It's at 41k now in 4 hours.

Lots of websites have participated in the blackout. See here for a small list, and countless more mentioned in the comments section.

That # list is kinda lame. Need numbers that lead to Washington as well.

Find your congressmen and call their offices in Washington as well!

PIPA support collapses, with 13 new Senators opposed

ZAtlLVos 01-19-2012 10:45 AM

Most awesome. :excited: Though they will most likely delay this bill, maybe "tweak" it and try in a couple months again for another vote. Might even wait for something bigger to hit the media to try and pass this under radar.

What upsets me, is that 2 of my representatives support, and seemingly still support this bill. Just with them supporting it in the first place, they will never get my vote.
I hope my phone calls and faxes at least help them change their mind. Need as many we can get to say no now. That way it will be harder to revive this thing.

SkeniaInhilla 01-19-2012 11:24 AM

Wow, only one democrat changed their mind. I am quite surprised by that.

Creative america "strikes back"

http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/n...-billboard.ars

They are losing and it scares them. Viva la resistance!

Xzmwskxn 01-19-2012 11:32 AM

LOL.

Their creative community are their writers who get paid sh/t and go on strike!
Plus all the dozens of extremely important/creative people who work behind the camera usually get paid a$$ as well.

Moupponge 01-19-2012 11:58 AM

**** Hollywood.

They are scum. 96% of the movies that come out of Hollywood are reboots, rehases or sequels because they ARE NOT creative. They are unoriginal hacks who shovel out the same **** movies with pander to the lowest common denominator of audiences. All they have to do is follow the guide book step by step and they can release one scam after the other to sham the public out of another dollar wasting time seeing their crap films.

Just look at the scam that was Jack and Jill or The Devil Inside. The movie was made on a super crapola budget and is insulting to the masses. They are puking out nothing but shovelware and they wonder why people pirate their films?

Oh yes! Preach it!:untroubled:

They are a bunch of whining cows and cry wolf when no one wants to see their crap they churn out. Hacks with money trying to control...:offended:

SOPA Outrage Is Breaking the Senate’s Websites

It looks like many of you really don't like thisSOPA thing! And best of all, you're actuallydoing something about it: US Senate contact pages are being hammered so hard, they're crashing.
Mark Begich (D - AK)? His site's down completely. Barbara Boxer (D - CA)? Her is loading like it's hosted on a Palm Pilot. And yes, Patrick Leahy (D - VT), you who co-sponsored PIPA—your site is all the way down. Dead. Gone.

This might make it harder for the SOPA opposition to voice its dissent, but it also sends a message louder than any one email. But don't stop trying—keep the hammers hammering. [US Senate via The Verge]
