Apple outsources patent infringement

Perhaps tired of being in the news all the time as it sues every company with a lock screen or a modern touch-based OS, Apple appears to have done something quite terrible this time around.

The firm has, slowly but surely, been transferring patents over to Patent Troll, Digitude. Digitude chairman, Robert Kramer, claims that "Digitude is a new kind of patent investment vehicle because it seeks to team up with strategic players that can invest not with money, but by contributing patents.
how can this be legal?

You know, if Apple were to succeed at this **** and block any device with touchscreen capabilities or what have you, I hope every country in the world blocks its products based on anti-competitiveness. Even MS never stooped so low and it got hit with a magnitude of fines for anti-competitiveness. Apple is very much doing much worse: stifling competition by blocking, or attempting to block, competitors' products.

Trolls will argue; "but don't steal tech" and others will reply: "We're not stealing; we're adapting this technology." Apple has enough cash to keep trolling, even through losses and appeals. Now they don't want to be seen as the enemy by using a vehicle to do its dirty work? Apple will then not blame themselves but put it down to, "we cemented our patents to gain access to others and trade for others. What this company is doing is not something we would do..." using spin doctoring worse than any political group could possibly dream.

Part of me wonders if Apple was Chinese or Russian, even if the products were exactly the same, this would be seen in a completely different limelight and the Western press and bloggers would be up in arms quicker than you can say communist [rolleyes]

Many companies are outsourcing their patents. Nokia did this too awhile ago.

This way you don't hurt your image/name.
