Wow, Vettel took pole by 9 thousands of a second.
Then
Button
Hamilton
Massa
Alonso
Webber
Schumacher
Senna
Petrov
Kobayashi

Seems Hamilton had some sort of issue, possibly with Schumacher - they both failed to make the start line in time to make a last lap qualifying run.

Seems like tyre attrition is a big concern for the teams with suggestions of up to 5 tyre stops...

Well, that was a good race.
Perfect timing with Bathurst finishing about the same time as they started their warm up lap.

God forbid we actually allow racing in formula 1 !

That move was perfectly fine and im glad the stewards agree. Its not like what Schumacher did to Barrichello a while back. Here Button was behind and he still had the kerb and grass and 80% of the track road. Acceptable but risky driving.

However if it was a certain other driver we'd have all sorts of fuss.

Exactly...!! If you're not allowed to move over and block your opponent then it might as well be qualifying only.

Bit awkward at the end btw with jenson talking to vettel in the backroom

[yawn] It's just not exciting. Maybe because passing looks too easy, like it's less of an achievement. Seem some good racing at Brands though.
Easy to overtake?? HAHA while they have DRS in F1 ?
Besides riding on the edge on a motorbike requires way more than just commitment and turning the steering wheel. It's about body position and weight and stamina too.

About the only difference it that it hurts more crashing a bike than a car.
F1 drivers are driving for up to two hours while withstanding up to 4G lateral and 5G under braking with suspension that's hard enough for them to be pounded for the full race - if that's not bad enough, cockpit temperatures can be pushing 50C.
As for overtaking, a bike takes up a lot less track width and the riders tend to use more track.

That said, the bike riders do put on some very good racing at times.

Bikes can't brake either!

A totally different class of racing tbh, some folks like watching Lawn Mower racing too as I've heard it's quite exciting!

What's so funny? I think you missed the point. I'm saying it's more challenging to overtake on 4 wheels, which therefore makes it more exciting to me. In F1, overtaking was so hard they introduced DRS, which provides us with more of the exciting overtaking. On some tracks maybe making it too easy, but that's just during the first season on implementing it I'd hope.

In F1, stamina matters as well. OK bikes have rider positioning, but that doesn't really make a difference to me sat on the sofa at home.

Poor Hamilton fans, he's not even the best driver in his own team anymore...

Woah, says who?

Regardless, Vettel could win 10 championships whilst in a coma driving that Red Bull. And Jenson Button could bring about world peace being the all round spiffing guy that he is.

But people will still focus more on what Hamilton does or doesn't do... as you have aptly proved.

So no possibility that Vettel is a true champion material then?

That remains to be seen, naysayers have a great talent of focusing on the negatives when their driver of choice isn't getting all the glory.

And for the first time ever, it feels good to be one.

In short, it was all the car... and yes Webber is shite.
