No. There is no alright/all right thing.

There is an already thing, though, and it is an affront to civilisation.

MW is an abomination unto lexicography.

A real dictionary of the English language - like the Oxford or the Collins, both of which I have in front of me, does not stoop to such depths as to attempt to justify madey-uppy-type words.

United Republic would be no problem. Or, if Scotland go their own way, England would be fine.

Umh, best not to take any chances. Those rebels gave Mr Hannover the heave ho and what do they use as a standard. Certainly not the queens' english.

Even if Scotland stay, England would be fine

There are 51 million English in the union...against what, 5 millions Scots? My home county is more populous than Scotland but we don't bloody ask to be a separate country.

So England it should be!
What about Pommyland?

Being of English ancestry myself I agree there is no need to ask the other lot, just call the whole place "England" ,including Wales and Northern Ireland and Man and the Channel Islands.

Oh please, not Northern Ireland. Can't we give that to Scotland? It's full of their chaps anyway.
If you ditch Scotland you risk your supplies of good whisky.

Umh, I thought you wanted to get rid of "already". Now you want to get rid, lizzie, Scotland and Ireland.

What next. kick us out of the Coomonwealth.

So no thanks
