Default talk to mii about wii
the word "wii" is too short to search, so i apologize if there's already a conversation about this going on somewhere else. i got a wii this weekend. it was passed down from my sister after she married a man who had every gaming system known to man. my parents never used it, and while we're not gaming people, i've been intrigued by how much actual activity you can get out of it. i've played it yesterday and today. just the basic wii sports disc is all we have. and i am sore. i broke a small sweat.

from what i've read online, "just dance 2" is one of the best for getting a good workout with the wii.

any advice? love it? hate it? have free discs you want to send me??

MARIOKART.

It's not a work out but with 2-4 players it is the most fun I have ever had playing video games!

I agree, Mario Kart is the bomb! I was pretty dubious about wii when my flatmate brought it a few years back and the tennis and boxing and stuff was ok, but when she unleashed Mario Kart my life was complete All the fitness oriented games quickly went to the bottom of the pile and we played MK relentlessly. I will never forget the day I clocked Rainbow Road without falling off once

I am housesitting at the moment and they have it and I am going to town trying to clock it, all day long. It is a lot more fun to play with other people, but even as a single player its a blast.

wii fitness things!

I have JD2 and I love it! You do work up a pretty good sweat from it - you have to learn to switch arm movements though so you are balanced. Throw yourself into the routine and have fun!

Gold's Gym Cardio Boxing - great workout too
EA Active 1&2 - these are also good and fun

Actually, thinking about dancing to wii has reminded me that my ex's nieces had this game I think called Raving Rabbits? Rabid Rabbits? IDK, something like that. And part of that game was dancing and it was unfreakingbelieveable how awesome that was. Sometimes getting the moves was a bit difficult (and I'm a good dancer!) but you could get a serious sweat up ... from the dancing and the laughing. I hope just dance is as fun as that game was.

Got Just Dance 2 the other day and it's addictive as hell. Don't think it's great for burning calories or cardio, but it does require a bit of agility and flexibility, and it fair warms you up. It's fun anyway.

I just wish there was some progression or unlockable features to give me more incentive. Otherwise I'm obviously just going to play Ke$ha and Fake Britney over and over again. Jump In Line is really hard.

Just Dance 3 you unlock special mashups etc. I do about an hour of JD2/JD3 a day and burn roughly 500 calories if I really get into it.

ok, so i tried out just dance 2, and turns out i'm really uncoordinated. i am not good. i have a very hard time mimicking dance moves when the instructor is facing me. my direction gets completely thrown off.

if you watch the little dancer guy, the wiimote hand is lit up orange.. i found it easier to follow if i just did the movements that the wiimote hand was doing instead of trying to "switch my self" around mentally. with practice you will get it.

Raving Rabbids, and yes, that game is amazing.

I cannot speak much to Wii other than that, because I am fiercely loyal to Kinect. No remote thing! Just yourself! Dance Central (1 and 2) is the shit.
