Default Stress relief!!!
Ok, where to begin! lol. Basically i'm finding myself getting very stressed out recently, mainly when it comes too work. As things arn't running as smooth as they should, and its starting to take its toll on me.
So what im asking is, has anyone got any effective stress relief exercises? As im finding myself lashing out at people who i shouldn't and i really do mean too, and i think its time i got myself into check! Any comments welcome!

Regards
Gregg x

Hi hiddendepths

well I have been through soooooo much stress and heart ache over the years, and have tried many, many things to get some kind of relief... I like you would come to that point and lash out.. mainly at the wrong people.. once I opened my mouth that was it.....

I regret every word and action as soon as my mouth closed and felt even worse, but for me I just changed my way of thinking in the end.

Something that would have normally bothered me, and people knew it, I wouldn't give them that satisfaction and just take a relaxed, lay back attitude about the situation....

I would keep on doing it, and the change that I feel within my self its great.... I feel refreshed, happier, and I am able to cope with anything.

I'm still going through with some family issues at the moment, and I'm not placing my self in it, when a family member tells me something I just shrug it off, its not my problem, it'll sort it self out......

Just have a lay back, and relaxed attitude, stress free.... its great!!!!!!

I wish you the best of luck, but I also feel things for you will sort itself out... you just need to pamper yourself a little bit, take a long relaxing oil bath..... take some me time and you will be just fine...

Blessings

Hi Gregg, I have suffered stress & anxiety through work in the past and I know from experience it can really make you ill. For me I found crystals helped me instantly in calming me down. I find amethyst works for me. The other thing is meditation I started to meditate when I didn't really know that is what I was doing. I started to take myself off for 15 mins every day somewhere quiet by myself close my eyes and just concentrate on my breathing.I think these 2 things have really changed my life helping me cope with stress. I hope they will be of some help to you as well

Blue calcite is amazing for stress relief. You may also want to try saying some affirmations such as "I am so blessed and I am grateful to have the love of Spirit protecting me and guiding me". Something to that effect. I agree with Lara that meditation does wonders for stress. I used to take anti-anxiety medication on a daily basis but since I started meditating every morning (before going to work) I was able to wean myself off and only have to use them on an occasional emergency basis. Good luck.

Exercise is a great stress relief. Also breathing. Taking slow deep breaths when you feel you are becoming stressed at work. Do something at lunch that is relaxing for your. I was very stressed at work and started to go to the library and read books that are uplifing for me. Sometimes I do a short meditation right before coming back from lunch -- I meditate sitting in the parking lot of my car. Just that short time of refocusing helps me get through the day. I also did a lot of mental work on the way into work (as I was walking to the elevator). Affirmations about how I wanted my day to go. I give thanks for my job every day. I affirm that I love my job and it is a supportive, peaceful place to be. I am sure you will have your own affirmations that work best for you. The trick for me was to change MY thinking. It made a world of difference. Best wishes in your efforts.

I love to hit the pillow really really hard - and sometimes - scream - into the pillow... and sometimes, turn the music up loud and sing and dance with strong energy.... thumping and stamping.

I would recommend -

a) Jogging

b) Herbal nerve tablets i.e. Quiet Life, Kalms... Gentle but effective.

I personally recommend looking for a different job.But if you can`t then i`d try and be as spiritual as possible,by listening to spiritual music (try youtube) lighting insence sticks(works a dream if you have the right one) meditating,or just shutting your eyes and breathing in deeply as the oxygen is good for the blood and thus the brain, and just generally do anything that`s going to stop you thinking about work.

I had a job working at next and found it to stressful so i quited and went back to college, as i thought i didn`t need this stress in my life and i wasn`t born to work in some clothes shop.

But i can`t tell you what to do i can only advice from personal experience.

Oh and possible the most important one i missed, read the "dalai lamas book Practising compassion in everyday live" it has helped me alot, as it helps to be compassionate and helps to train you mind so your incontrol of it not the other way round.

Best of luck

P.S Do what you feel is right inside of you.
