I wish i knew how to correct it quickly when the skull shots set in. My blow up hole on the back nine contained 3 consecutive skulled iron shots... :(

Still lots of room to improve.

Topped shots / thin shots and even fat shots are most often caused by moving off the ball. For most people, that's because they sway backwards rather than turning. Once you sway off the ball, your body has to try to make a move to get you back in position before you hit the ball. If it's successful, you hit something resembling a decent shot. If not, you hit it thin, fat, off the heel/toe, etc.

When I hit a really bad shot, the first thing I fix is to make sure I'm making a good turn and not swaying. Give it a try - I'll bet you'll find it helps get you back on track more quickly.

Congrats on the round! I'm getting close to where you are. Except for one blow up hole the other day, I would've shot a 95. Shot a 100 which is my personal best anyway, but I'm in the hunt to break 90 as well!

This is what I've been noticing too. When I start moving too much I'll hit a terrible shot

Best round yet!

Played 18 today at Timberlake in Clinton NC. Had a a great start (for me) paring 2 out of the first 3 holes and going on to shoot a 45 on the front. The back nine was not as kind but I did shoot a 49 for a round of 94, three strokes off my previous best... http://www.thehackersparadise.com/fo...es/biggrin.png

My sights are set on 90.

Tommy

Thanks guys, it really does feel good when you are making progress. My cousin and playing partner today commented on how much better my swing/form looked. He normally kicks my butt, but not today. He had a rough time on the front nine and I took him by two on the round.
