Took some lessons!
What's up guys? Haven't been on here in awhile really busy with work. Whatever free time I did have I've been out playing or practicing. I finally found some time to take some lessons! I am very glad I finally did. I've been hovering around that 9 handicap for a long time now, and I'm just not satisfied with that. Took some lessons that went really well. He didn't change a whole lot with my swing, just tweaked some things here and there so it does feel different, but definitely something I can get comfortable with, with time and practice. Since my lessons I haven't played much at all I've really been focusing on practicing and taking a little different practice approach. I try and make every shot count and try to do everything correctly on every ball that way I'm getting good muscle memory. Just wanted to update The Hack family! http://www.thehackersparadise.com/fo...ilies/blob.gif

congrats on the sucess with the lessons!

I think I was about a 9 when I took my first lesson as well. It is by far the best decision I've made in my golf life. It didn't take long before my handicap took a nose dive and it has slowly dropped to the 2 that I am now. If I find myself having some issues, I'll still go back to that same guy and get him to take a look at my swing and what I'm doing wrong. Keep working on it and you'll get yours down as well.

Really considering getting a lesson, reading all these positive threads is pushing me even more lol.

Even though I wish I still could get better faster, I got better from lessons much faster than I did trying it on my own. Plus, you get a rush every time you take a lesson and see improvement. It's a great feeling.

I had my first lesson last night and while it's still a work in progress I did see some improvement.

Good job!

I have one more lesson in my package that I will be taking in the next week or 2. Outside of getting into better shape physically, because tired swings destroy my rounds, I feel like I am getting really close to dropping my handicap significantly.

Thats awesome to hear Yorkem. Golf changes bigtime when people get in better shape/drop weight/get stronger.

I took lessons for the first time this year as well. I can wholeheartedly say it was well worth the money. I am hitting the ball so much better and with much more consistency. My putting is letting me down right now which is the only reason my scores haven't dropped dramatically. I was shooting in the high 90s at the beginning of the season and now I am in the low 90s. If i could only avoid the dreaded three putt!!!!!!!!
A putting lesson is a must for me next season. Has anybody had one? Was it worth it? |

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys! Love this place, always feel so welcome no matter what. For the guys that were on the fence considering lessons, do it! Best golf investment I've made to date.

I had a lesson today. It went very well.
My instructor got me to move the ball a bit forward in my stance, and we worked on getting my arms to fully extend on the backswing and delay my wrist hinge a bit. He also gave me a couple drills I can work on. It's amazing what hitting a towel off the ground can do for your swing! I wish I had done this weeks ago. I feel like I'm back on the right track with my goal to improve my swing. I think I will book another lesson for next week so my instructor can give me some feed back on my short game (we have mostly worked on mid irons and driver - 3W). |

I started golfing last summer and decided the first thing I should do was take some lessons to help learn the basics. I bought 5 lessons last year and 5 again this year. I am already shooting low 90s to mid 80s!!! Played pinehurst last week and shot a 96. Lessons are great for anyone willing to get better. Also if your interested in taking lessons ask around for who people have used and if they like the pro, I got very lucky to have a great pro help me and it only cost $25 for an hour lesson if I purchase 5 or more lessons!
