Default The Carry Distance of the Clubs In Your Bag
Just got done reading the post about "Distance Conciousness" and why we are so driven for more distance with our clubs and thought that the following could be interesting.
Truthful answers will help draw better conclusions for all.
List the True Distance (Carry)
Overall distance (with roll out on tee shots and fairway rolls)
and your handicap
and with enough responses draw your own conclusions as to the corillation between distance and scoring average.

My Average Distances with full swings are as follows:

Driver (carry) 230-245 yds (roll out) 250-270 yds
3Wood (carry) 215-230 yds (roll out) 225-240 yds
18* Hybrid (carry) 190-195 (roll out) 200-215
4 Iron (carry) 180-185
5 Iron (carry) 170-175
6 Iron (carry) 160-165
7 Iron (carry) 150-155
8 Iron (carry) 138-143
9 Iron (carry) 125-133
PW (carry) 110-115
GW52* (carry)98-103
SW56* (carry) 80-90
LW60* (carry) 55-65

HCP fluctuates between 6 and 8

Do you really? bc personally I don't.

To the OP, may I ask how you know the carry distances of all your clubs, more so mid/long irons thru driver? Serious question, because I'm not sure how people go about getting that down...

I know that I can hit my 7 iron 150 consistently except when I hit it fat, I basically base my distances around that, in my experience, I hit my driver about 100 yards further than my 7 iron and I know I can hit the green with my gap wedge from 100 yards away so everything else is just guesswork around that

GPS on an empty course, find a constant yardage like the front edge of a green and go from there.

Dtak, you could gps a flag... Use you golf clubs to you know, hit a golf ball at it. If you get close enough times to flags of the same distance, reckon you could get a distance.

No offense but if you don't like these threads don't read them. No reason to put the OP on defensive.

OP. There are a lot of threads on this already. I'm using my poor blackberry or I'd search and merge for you.

LOL..there are soooo many threads like this; however, I THINK this is the first one that has requested the full monty. I always enjoy reading both the banter and the facts as they see fit to list. Internet vs course is always up for debate, but at least the OP went all out with the list. To each his own in how they post, but I like to see the dream team come alive and live vicariously through them .

Carry distance with Woods is approximately 25 yards short of Total Distance. Carry distance with hybrids is 10-15 yards short of total distance.

Total Distance:

5 Wood - 210

3 hybrid - 195
4 hybrid - 185
5 hybrid - 175

6 iron - 160

9 iron - 130
PW - 115
UW - 100
SW - 75

starting to doubt my distances now, working on a shorter more compact swing and seem to nwo be about a club shorter than before, but with better accuracy. Hoping to get the #'s dialed in before winter comes rolling around

These are my numbers exactly. I am 45 yrs old and in good shape. I feel like I should be hitting longer but I am consistant with my shots so I am finally giving up on hitting for distance.

OK so all this was about was so people could see the corrilation between distance and scoring,
that may have been a better title for this post,
but it has nothing to do with the corrilation between distance and the size of anyones manhood.
It was also meant to make people who respond really think about the difference between how far that they truthfully carry the ball and how far teir total distance is with each club.

"To the OP, may I ask how you know the carry distances of all your clubs, more so mid/long irons thru driver? Serious question, because I'm not sure how people go about getting that down... "

My personal distances have been aquired usining my Bushnell Tour V2 Pro over a period of time and looking at ball marks on par 3 greens and both ball marks in wetter fairways and lasering back to tee boxes from ball position in the fairways.

I'm assuming these numbers are with a 25mph wind straight in your face? Otherwise they seem a bit short to me.

Well, did not take long for this thread to take the expected path that we have seen over the last 20 minutes.

I wish something good would ever come out of a thread such as this but I have failed to see it.

I think the OP has a pretty good reason behind the thread, so let's try not to be dicks.

My Average Distances with full swings are as follows:

Driver (carry) 200-230yds (roll out) 210-240
3Wood (carry) 190-210yds (roll out) 200-220+ yds
20° Hybrid (carry) 185-190
23° Hybrid (carry) 175-180
26° Hybrd Iron (carry) 165-170
6 Iron (carry) 150-155
7 Iron (carry) 140-145
8 Iron (carry) 130-135
9 Iron (carry) 120-125
PW (carry) 110-115
49° wedge Don't take full shots. It's most often my 85 yard club.
53° Don't take full shots. It's most often my 75 yard club.
57° Don't take full shots. It's most often my 65 yard club.

This is as of today. As you can see, weak like a cripple. Based on experience on the course mixed with time on a launch monitor. My distance are pretty inconsistent based on how I'm swinging and they fluctuate up and down all the time, especially with the driver and 3 wood. I cover the 85-115 yard gap via the 8,9, PW via partial swings.

HCP fluctuates between is 13.4 GHIN as of today.
