With scores like that I can't see how you aren't in single digits already. Congrats, that if very impressive. Especially on a new course that is that difficult.

84 and 81 at my home course this weekend. No single digit handicap for me it doesn't look like.
New handicaps come out in the morning.

My Dad was at a low 10 handicap this weekend, then shot a 97. He was pretty pissed yesterday.

ryr, do you usually play on the same course?

Way to go.

Some guys at work were talking about a tournament they played in down at Cape Girardeau over the weekend, an alumni high school deal. They said some guy made a hole in one and won $10,000. Then on the next hole his team eagled, so they got all the skins, over $1200.
My buddy's dad pulled out one of those $10,000 prizes on a hole in one hole this past weekend. Pretty ridiculous.

Woohoo.

9.8

So I still get 10 strokes but I can brag to everyone that I'm a 9 handicap. That'll probably throw me into A flight at the club championship Labor Day weekend so instead of being a favorite to win B flight I'll get stomped in A flight.

Sounds like the boat I'm in. A couple of good rounds have me stuck in A flight, but they were fool's gold. I got up and down from everywhere. I don't have a chance in A the way I'm generally playing.

I would get killed in an A flight match.

Congrats ryr, and yes we always round DOWN when announcing our handicaps at parties.

Change of heart. I had a solid 80 today that could have very easily been 3-4 shots better if I could putt. I had 8 birdie putts ranging from 8-20 feet and made none of them. The lessons are starting to kick in and I'm trusting it. If I can keep this up, I'll feel better about being in A flight.

79 today, 2 birdies. Tough day since my arms are infested with poison ivy so I had to wear a long sleeve shirt and it was hot. Tried elastic bandages first but they made me itch real bad. Almost blew it on 18. Hit it in the trees off the tee. Got out. Hit it on. 2 putts for bogey and a 79. Got greedy and ran the first putt 6 feet by but I made the comebacker.
I missed several short putts throughout the day so i could have shot a lot better.

Default Great Weekend
Went to Paducah KY and shot 82 (40-42) yesterday at a course I'd never seen. The Country Club of Paducah, private course. Robert Trent Jones design, par 72.
Rating is 74.4/134. I had one birdie. My differential shows at 6.4 there.

Today I went to Stone Creek at Makanda IL, shot 78 (38-40). One birdie. Par 72.
70.1/133 rating there. My differential was 6.7.
I might have played even better today but my back locked up on the back 9 and I was having to really watch how I swung the club to keep from hurting myself worse.

If I keep playing like this I might get down to single digits again.

I used to buy cookies for the post of the day. You'll have to wait until the money and gifts reappear.

You will if you shoot those scores on those type courses, obviously. I get "challenged" when I play off my home course these days.

But, I had a good week, also. 36 in league play, which got me low gross on the back side. I also grabbed a closest in one flag and a deuce.

The deuce last week was worth $218 because only one guy was in the pot (although 6 others got one) and there was a carry over from the week before.

I'll be lucky to make 10 bucks. Me and three other guys go in each week, one wins all win. I've made the only two in the two years we've done it.

Still, I got no complaints.
