At a company social club Texas Scramble a few years ago it was sprinkling on and off but not really raining. My group had three other guys that golfed regularly and we were all playing well that day. I forgot my golf shoes at home that day and just wore my street shoes instead. All was good till we got to a par three #17 if I remember right anyway I was right between clubs. The other guys hit first and had the pin surrounded.
I had taken the lesser of two clubs and swung hard. The last thing I saw as my feet came out from under me was the club shaft coming toward my head. Once I got up and cleaned myself off and everyone stopped laughing (including me) we headed to the green. Where we had another good laugh as my ball was closest to the hole, inside a foot. |

My dad hit a worm burner one time that smacked right into a turkey vulture. Amazingly the thing got up and flew off.

A few years back my good friend and I were playing a round shortly after there had been a rain storm and the course was a fairly muddy mess. We are on a Par 5 tee box and while waiting to tee off he tried to mimic a smooth practice swing, unfortunately he hit it fat and launched a muddy divot basically into my face. I literally had grass clumps on my glasses between my eyes and mud all over me. I had to laugh but told him that "while it may not happen today, karma was going to strike him back, and when it does he will remember this day". So we tee off and as we start to head down the fairway I hear a funny sound and look up to see my buddy slip on some mud and land in a heap in the biggest mud puddle on the course! As he picked his arse up I said to him "looks like karma couldn't wait".

My buddy and I stopped at the turn for beverages and food. He was up next on the tee and put his hot dog on the dashboard of the open air cart. He was on the tee when a crow swooped down from a tree and perched himself on the front of the cart, where he grabbed the dog from the bun. I yelled "hey bird!", my friend turned and saw the bird stealing his dog and ran back toward the cart yelling something like "AAAWWWW!!!", club in hand being mindlessly flaileded about as if it were a real threat to anything. The crow took the the dog and flew up to a tree limb, ate it then started mocking him with a loud and obnoxious "CAW!". My friend stood there bumfounded then hit his driver OB right. Classic.

I had a pretty funny one just last week. We started on the back, so make the turn to number one, and I've fought the hard lefts all day. There is a road on the left of one, and the driving range over the road. I've been know to make the range on more than one occasion, so the jokes start flying. As my turn comes up, there is traffic on the road, so we have to wait for the cars, and the jokes are really coming now. And sure enough, I nuke my shot left, and we see it bounce in the road. It goes down the road a long ways, and looks like it bounces off something, and comes back a bit to the right. I hit a provisional that gets tangled in some trees, punch out, hit it in the greenside bunker, and walk over to the ob fence and look for my first ball. It actually came back into play just on the good side of the fence, 70 yards from the green. Pretty scuffed up, but I was able to get a club on it, and save a bogey. http://www.thehackersparadise.com/fo...es/biggrin.png

I was playing a local course with two close friends, the third hole is a short par 3, 100 yds from the tee, the pin is about centre of the green, 10yds on. I get my tee shot on the green, first friend sends his off right side of the green. 2nd friend hits a beautiful high PW which we know is just going to drop dead on the green. Its bang on line and ricochets of the flagstick, back off the front of the green and 20 yds back down a slope to the cart path, from hero to zero, think he finished with a 5
