I CANNOT hit a green or get it close from this distance, 75 and in. I hit it fat or skull it, I'll hit it sideways or 7 inches off the ground like a scud missle. My 52 degree wedge is broken and all I have is a 60 degree and it is killing me. Any suggestions on wedges or advice from this distance is apperciated and wanted. If you have wedges laying around that I might could try out, I am willing. I am losing lots of strokes from this distance. |

75 yards is a partial L wedge, and since I can't practice anymore with 3 kids in sports and a wife that works, I don't leave myself that distance. I will leave myself 85-90 yards or farther out or greenside, that way I don't have any partial wedge shots. Makes lay up calculations on par 5's a little trickier, but full wedges are much easier to hit the right distance for me.
If you're really struggling from that yardage, see a pro and it may be a simple set up fix. Most golfers have a poor set up with a wedge(ball too far forward or weight at address out of whack). |

Dude I couldn't hit the green from 75 yards out if my life depended on it so when I got the ATV for testing it was a great experience to test it 75 in, sure enough I've been able to hit the green consistently with it today I hit it onto the green leaving it this close to the pin from about 73 yards. . . Love your new Avatar by the way. I used to own a 73 Les Paul Custom. |

Like a lot of others have said, try taking longer iron and using a shorter swing. From 75 yds I'm probably using my 9i, putting the ball back a bit in my stance, then swinging slow and easy from the 3 o'clock to 9 o'clock positions and let the ball get up in the air for a while and then run out towards the green. That's starting to save me a lot of shots instead of trying to use a more full shot with the SW or 60 degree wedge, often leading to shank to the right.
