I Know It's A While Away...

But I cannot wait for Christmas to get here. I went to a local Golfsmith yesterday with my mom, which has a Golftec center in the store. When she saw the Golftec sign, she asked what it was and what they did. So I told her that they do lessons and club fittings, and then proceeded to explain what a club fitting was and how much it helps when she had a blank stare on her face. I just started playing golf last summer, but she knows that I've become pretty serious about the sport and trying to get better. She became intrigued so we went and talked to the Golftec pro, and he went into more detail about what they offer. My mom really liked the sound of it and said that she's probably going to pay for a package of lessons and for me to go through a club fitting for Christmas! Holy cow, am I excited!

For background information, I usually shoot in the mid-80's; sometimes I'll shoot low-80's and sometimes upper-80's. But I'm pretty consistently around there. I've never had a lesson before and have learned everything I know about the game on my own so far. I've read threads on here about how much fittings and lessons have helped all of you, so I'm really excited to see what they can do for me and my game. Now I just have to play the waiting game for four months.

And thank you all who have shared your experiences with Golftec and their services; it is all very much appreciated on my end considering I had no clue what Golftec was before joining this site. And thank you to those who read this. I'm sure my friends won't care too much about this, so I really wanted to share my good news and excitement with all of you who understand how beneficial this will be for my game!

I'm never ready for snow. I could deal with the week before and after Xmas having a ton of snow but after that I'm ready for it to melt so I can get back to golfing grilling and boating.

That's why Texas is great, you can still golf and grill in December.

I said that my mom was probably going to do this when I posted it, but she said today that she's definitely going to. Excitement level rose!

Gage, excited for you man. I've never had a lesson, but I did get fitted for my driver, i20's, and 3wood. Let me know the next time you are playing a round in the metroplex, I'll try and join you. I've shot in the 70's a few times, but recently it's been scattered around the 80's. Maybe we can get both our scores in the 70's.

I definitely will start one around November once school is hopefully slowing down with some swing vids and pre-lesson information. Then try to get vids from the lessons and post-round stats. My buddy and I are getting an apartment on a golf course, so I can play a little more during the school year than I'm used to.

Yeah sounds good! It'd be great to tee it up with you sometime.

Excited for you Gage!

And BigFrank, I have that same picture that you have as your avatar.

Awesome to hear. I can't wait to hear how the lessons and fitting go. Apparently that's what Golftec does really well!

Yeah I'm hoping they can really help me out, which I'm sure they're more than able to!
