swing question

what would pointing the club across the line at the top accomplish in a swing?would it help you come from the inside better?

Some will say crossing the line is bad some will say it doesn't matter. I say is harmful for a traditional golf swing. It doesn't help to get the club inside more it actually hinders it. Typically your grip is incorrect, over swinging, improper shoulder turn or wrist have set wrong. There are other reasons but I do not advise it.

If your club shaft is pointing right of your target line, it will usually cause an over the top move in the transition. I assume that is what you meant by "across the line."

ok so what would a swing coach tell you to feel as if you were pointing across the line be used for? probably because you are laid off at the top and he is trying to get you out of that feel?
