Well it rains here some would say a little bit so my bag is always prepared for rain. Couple of things you NEED and then some things that you will want.
Need: - Umbrella - Rain Gloves Might want: - Rain Pants - Rain jacket As far as how to play in it, you need to make sure that ball first contact is made, as fat shots will kill your round. You will also lose distance over non rainy rounds so be prepared for that. |

You mean play in the rain? Waterproof shell, rain pants if it's cold, wet gloves for when the grips inevitably get wet, extra towel, spare pair of socks in the car just in case.
Accept it's not likely to be a record score, swing a tad less aggressively if the tees are really slippery, try and pick the ball cleanly if fairways are soaked. Up here, we just remind ourselves that it isn't snow. And all this doesn't apply if the rain's cold or a steady soaker, we just stay home then. What you really want is a Brit or Scot to chime in. They have to cope with this a bundle. |

Depends how bad the rain is. If you get stuck playing in the rain bands of a tropical storm for instance, it doesn't matter what you do or have on. You're going to be completely soaked. At that point you just keep the glove on the entire time and don't expect to shoot a good score.
If it's just a random rain shower, just do your best to keep the grips and glove dry and expect to hit an extra club into the greens etc. |

Weirdly enough, we used to play in the rain all the time. 3 seasons ago, we probably played half our rains in the rain, thats just how the season was.
I still play just as many rounds, but haven't been rained on heavy in 2 years. Funny enough, 2 years ago I started carrying an umbrella all the time. I would however, make sure to put extra emphasis on stretching if it were to rain. I find the rain tightens my body up so much, I almost need to stretch every 2nd hole. |

I don't mind playing in the rain, just give me some kind of cover for my bag, some rain gloves, and maybe a jacket. If its cold and rainy you can forget it. The only problem is here in florida if it is raining in the summer, there is probably associated lightning. I'm not playing that game. |

I have the rain gear, the towels, the rain hood, umbrella, all of that.
What I don't have is a way to keep the rain off my glasses. And for those of us that have to wear prescription lenses, rain sucks. I've tried a lot of different hats, whatever, but nothing seems to work. Not being able to see definitely cuts into the enjoyment factor. |
