I'll certainly be giving this a try. I love mixing up firefly vodka with simply lemonade, but that's dangerous.

dosugxxx 09-22-2012 09:01 AM

I'd definitely give these a try. Anything that is delicious and sweet after a round is good in my book. I usually stick to Brass Monkeys but variety is the spice of life.

Hmmm....very interesting. I am not a beer guy but typically like the vodka spiked tea / lemonade. Need to give these a try, next week perhaps?!?!

If you have had the Hard Arnold Palmer drink, are they similar or do they taste different?
I haven't had that so I can't compare. I am normally not much of a drinker, but this was good, it was more refreshing than I expected.

I've loved the arnold palmer spiked 50/50, I really enjoy the unspiked version as well. I tried this michelob drink last weekend actually, I personally was not a fan, YMMV.
What does YMMV mean? I am so bad with internet slang haha.

Unfortunately, no it won't be. We tried to have them send us a case, but there was this whole liability thing that they were hung up on. http://www.thehackersparadise.com/fo...lies/smile.png All joking aside, we completely understand why.
I know if I was asking for a case I would have screwed it up;

Me; I have an RV that I drive around all over the place to different golfing areas, would love a case to stock the fridge and travel around with.
Michelob; Umm...http://www.thehackersparadise.com/fo...bulgy-eyes.png

Interesting. As a fan of sweet tea vodka and lemonade, I might give these a try. My only problem with things like this in the past is that they always seemed to taste, well, canned. Perhaps a bit of carbonation can help that out though.
Same here...sounds like a great drink for sitting in the sun and doing nothing. I also make sure to use a glass with ice if it's like a Mike's Hard or Twisted Tea.

Looks like something I need to try...I've always wondered when they'd make an Arnie Palmer into an adult beverage.

EDIT: Seems like they already have. Never seen the Hard Arnie Palmer. And don't anyone make a crack at that.
Hard Arnold Palmer is called a John Daly

Another solid new addition, if you like margarita's, is the new Lime-A-Rita. It rocks over ice and I've had people order a salted glass.

tactWeiccaf 09-24-2012 09:01 AM

I might have to have one of these next week. I'm a fan of the tea with lemonade mix. Spiking it could be a little dangerous for me.

YMMV: Your Mileage May Vary
  1. To express a possible difference in taste, "this is just my opinion, your opinion may be different".

I think these are worth a try though.

Thanks GG. If anyone has had both, I would love to see the comparison. I havent been able to find the Hard AP around here so maybe the Michelob will come around.
DevRickus, I get to try all the goodies because my wife is the Brand Mgr for the largest alcohol distributor in KY.

They are very different. The Arnold Palmer half/half taste nothing like a real Arnold Palmer cocktail or even his non-alcoholic half/half. It was designed as a malt beverage in order to get around some state's antiquated distribution rules on wine/spirits. It taste more like a hard lemonade or something. Not refreshing like the cocktail. Actually kind of "heavy" and syrupy. It is the only drink in the Arnold Palmer portfolio that I don't "love" and just "like". I do like them, just not as much as the real half/half spiked with vodka.

The Michelob product has been a flop and most distributors are already engaging in buybacks. It also doesn't taste like the cocktail. I tried one and thought it was OK, but evidently the general public doesn't care as much for it as I do.

So I'm back to spiking the normal half/half or mixing up Jeremiah Weed Sweet Tea, which if you haven't had, you have to try. It is better than Firefly, which I considered sacrilege for the past 3 years until trying the JW. It is awesome!!

Yep, been drinking this a couple weeks now and love it. I sampled it to a number of members at the course and it's selling like hotcakes, can't keep enough in the place.

JeorgeNoxeref 09-28-2012 09:01 AM

OEM needs to have some of those in between is Bud Light Lime.

Sounds tasty! I'm a big fan of the regular Arnold Palmer and it's one of the few drinks that I've never added vodka to. This is totally on my radar!
