I'm in the process of reworking my iron game. Its been getting progressively worse over the past few months, and I'm hooking it more than ever. Last week at the range it was as bad as it's ever been, I was shan*** everything or barely getting it off the ground. Odd thing was, for the most part my fairway metals and driver were as good as they are typically.
I'm kind of at a lost point, in that I'm just not feeling comfortable at all over the ball with the irons. So what are some of your favorite drills to work on the basics? How about swing thoughts? Since my driver/fairway metal game is usually pretty good, I thought I'd offer my swing thoughts. For both of them I'm thinking "go sloooow on the back swing, and start slow on the downswing, get parallel to ground, and whip the club through, extending down the line, and finishing over the front foot so you can pick up your back foot" |
