ive used golfshot for almost 3 years now, i love it. it is usually within 5 yards of the gps unit my friend has and the cart gps at courses that have them. $30 is a bit high, but it is only a one time charge.

I've used Swing by Swing the most. It's not too bad on my battery, I can get through 27 holes. I have Golflgix, but it seems a tad slower than Swing by Swing. I also have Free Caddie, nRange Golf GPS, and Golf Frontier. Haven't used any of those extensively though. I'm curious about Skydroid though.

I like one that's really simple and doesn't eat up the battery. It's called "How Far am I".

Freecaddie isnt bad either. Its free (duh) and it gives decent yardages. Its not super detailed but it does tell you the distance to the flag. Skydroid is my fav though. Im sometimes amazed at what little battery life it uses. I find the battery life on my Samsung Galaxy S to be pretty sucky most of the time but Skydroid uses very little battery life.

Golf shot and mobitee which is great for battery life and accurate

Golfshot has to be the best but its 30 bucks. skydroid is the best deal and with the mapping feature you can make it more accurate on the courses you want.

I use swing by swing. It's free and pretty accurate. Will track shots and clubs. I like it!

I got both Skydroid and Golf Frontier, paid versions for both, free from Amazon Appstore. Skydroid was the first one I tried and am really impressed how good it is. I verified against the gps on our golf cart and it +-1yd. It does like to chew your battery and spit it out, but I found hitting home and turning off the screen saves some juice. Next hole, I will bring up recent app list and Skydroid takes couple sec to catch up.
Next time, I will try Golf Frontier and report back. Sent from my HTC Vision using Tapatalk |
I am trying to decide if I want to purchase the "Looper" package from Swing by Swing. It is 70% off till sunday. $14 for a year. Here is the link to what it includes:
http://www.swingbyswing.com/looper/?...om_2Flooper_2F I guess for $14 what am I out. I am going to try Golflogix next time I'm out. The free download comes with 2 rounds for a test of the $20/yr membership. I just wonder where some of these other apps get there info. I know Golflogix has a standalone unit so I feel maybe they have a better database of courses that are mapped a little more accurate. Not sure about that just a thought. Guess I will find out next week. |
Well I tried Golflogix today.
I used one of the free premium rounds. When it worked it was good. Kept force closing. I sent them a email guess we will see what they say. Seemed to use more battery than I thought it would. |
