I cuss after every shot, does that count?

I forget who said it (Trevino?), but it was along the lines of " My only superstition is to avoid 8s on the scorecard".

During Morgan Cup weeks I don't change or wash my boxers. Ask Marcs, he was begging for that superstition to die

no superstitions, funny ticks or waggles, just habits to make sure i have everything i need
divot repair tool, ball marker in the RH pocket along with three tee's of varying heights ball cleaner back right card back left glove front left jacket pocket one bottle of juice and a couple of cereal bars in case i get hungry reading through the thread, i've decided to add another couple i keep playing a ball until its lost or mauled (managed 5 rounds with a Pro V until it took a trip over a rail line) clean the club face after every shot |
Extra ball needs to be in the right pocket.
Tee behind the ear. I always forget to remove it until I get home, hence the pile of used tees in my closet. I have a set-up/pre-shot that looks stupid on camera, but isn't really long. Clubs have a spot in the bag and are not allowed elsewhere. |
I never hit driver on the first hole

I have no real superstions if I am playing good. But if I am bad then I take my glove off, switch balls, put tees in oppiste pocket and enter the cart (if riding) from the opposite side. I try and reverse my misfortune.

Divot repair tool and random quarter for ball marker in right pocket. Remove glove for birdie putts.

Golf Superstitions/Mannerisms
Golf is a crazy game...but sometimes the golfers themselves, are even crazier.
Now, golf may not be able to battle some of the strangest superstitions out there, as those in football or especially baseball, but I'm sure it ranks up there pretty close. In this thread, we can discuss all of our odd superstitions, mannerisms, routines, OCD's, strange-isms or any other oddities that we go about in our every day rounds of golf. I'll start us off... I always have to have a quarter in my right pocket to use as a ball marker. I prefer it be a commemorative state quarter. That way, if I play good that day, I can stick with that same state as a good luck quarter. I keep my stat book in my back left pocket, but other than that, I hate to have anything else in my pockets. I stick my tee in my hat behind my right ear. I HAVE to wear a hat. (I've bought a hat once because I didn't bring one home with me). I have a pre-shot routine for each shot...but who doesn't? You should if you don't. And anyone that has seen my HOTD videos, knows that I waggle more than JDufner, but there's no science to it. And yes, I do believe that I will play better with certain outfits/scripting, as I have my favorites. But mainly for me, it's about being completely comfortable. |
cant say that I do...but I do enjoy reading about others (except the boxers)

I won't use tee's that are already in the ground on tee boxes that I don't use driver from. They call for an instant shank. I'll search for other broken tees or just go back to the cart and get a new tee before I use one that's already I'm the ground.
John Deere Tap'n |
Two long epoch tees and one short epoch tee in my right pocket.
two practice swings with my putter -- but experimenting with three haha! Tee ball faced logos on the sides and ball type line facing down. I always consider my ball marker before the round and sometimes change in round if i am not happy with my putting. My clubs are in a specific order in my golf bag and I refuse to allow that to be different, ever ever! Oh, and having to re-tie my golf shoes during a round really messes with my head. |
