Good for him. Contrast the riots / lawsuits over various home run balls with this. He even passed the ball around AND IT CAME BACK. I don't think he's over concerned with the monetary value, so some stroking from Augusta National and everybody's happy.

Me? If Oosthuizen wanted it back, I'd like to think I'd comply. I'd expect some token compensation, probably mementos, but he'd get it. He's the one it means the most to.
If the club wanted it? Passes, for sure. Coin, probably. A round if it could be finagled (although I'm thinking that's unlikely). I feel a bit venal even typing it, but the temptation would be there to flat out sell it. The club members spend my mortgage on a year's lunches, and karma doesn't make much of a sandwich filling.

I would try to trade it for some passes for future years and to get to play a round!

If they asked me to name my price I would say a round of golf for my two brothers and I with a nights stay in the Butler Cabin as well as Masters badges for the next few years.

I'd demand a couple rounds at Augusta and passes to the tournament for several years to come.

The members of the club surrounded the spectator who caught it and brought him into the clubhouse. Im sure they made him an offer he couldnt refuse.
I bet they did. Like two broken legs, busted ribs, maybe more.

I would donate it to Augusta National and I bet they would take care of me without me even having to ask.

something tells me there was an NDA signed between this guy and Augusta.....Augusta being private and all want to keep their secrets to themselves and have the urban legend of what they may or may not have had to give up for the ball is now going to be a part of the Masters myth

Has there been anything come out from this? Did you guy keep it? Is Augusta going to try and get the ball?
