Interesting idea and thanks for the writeup GG. I've been looking for a comprehensive book for golf workouts and will give this one a look. A bit disappointing it isn't as polished as it could be, but for $12, who can really complain? Does the book include golf specific stretches too? Keep us updated on how finishing the program changes your game.

Golfer Gal: thanks for bringing this book to our attention in a well written review that touched on everything I could ask for. I was a bit leery and disappointed when I saw "Women's" in the subject line but within 1 paragraph and 15 seconds, you squashed those concerns.

I like to workout, but I have been struggling with back injuries. I am going to order this book today and hope that it in addition to what you already covered that it gives me some stretches that could assist.

Some will say that this information is readily available via the internet, but I like having a "go to" spot with everything in one place and this may cover that for me. Not to mention, the wife is always nagging me to read so this is a win-win. Thanks again and great review!!

Thanks for the review Morgan, it peaked my interest. I'll be looking on iTunes to see if I can read this while in Denver.
I'm a big fan of working out and golf as long as proper stretching is done as well. I have to imagine he covers this in the book.
Lol at the red face over cardio. That mad me chuckle.

Great idea on the iTunes / Kindle versions! I just checked iTunes and it is available for $9.99. Gonna download instead of ordering the paper version.

Very thorough review GG, I too was concerned and disappointed when I saw the title contained “Women’s”, you relieved all of my concerns. I have recently begun to work out and have been looking for workouts designed speifically for golf. From your review it looks like I have found my book. Thanks for such a great review.

Nice review GG, I enjoyed reading that summary. Thanks!

I think it’s a great idea to have a fitness book that’s targeted at golf in particular. I know a lot of people who are, to put it dramatically, scared to dive into any fitness plan because of under-education on the subject. If I could give them golf-specific exercises and workouts, then they’d be a lot more focussed and motivated, I’d bet.

This book seems to be pitched at an attractive price too, so hopefully those on the fence about kick-starting their fitness and health plans will pick this up and gain some useful ideas!

Very nice job, GolferGal! I've been looking for something to help me build some of my swinging muscles up, specifically for more power and endurance. The only problem is that I hate working out. I don't feel like I'm going to get away with being lazy much longer though.

I'm with Hawk. This is something I have been looking for, but I despise exercising. Now that Tmex is doing it though I think I need to step it up. Thanks for the review GG! I made sure to retweet it for you

Great review on a subject that I think every single one of us could benefit from. I love that this book has a section devoted to the mental side of things and I agree, many recreational golfers completely over look that part of it. I definitely love the sounds of the HIIT you spoke about as well, it's almost like killing two birds with one stone with your workout, getting weight training and cardio done in one routine. Great review, thanks!

I think one of the most important things mentioned in the review is finding the RIGHT workout. I use to lift a lot and I still like to but between golf, basketball and lifting my back just can't take it so I have to choose wisely. I like to lift a 2-3 times a week now and focus more on stretching and cardio because I would like to lose some more weight.

This looks really good. Followed the link to Amazon, and found there's a newer version that doesn't have Women's in the title: Weight Training For Golf: The Ultimate Guide

Nice find! Same author and it was just released on 3/1/2012. Wonder if those few grammatical errors, etc that Morgan found were fixed in this release.

Nice review Morgan. This is something that is on my mind with the training the wife and I am doing. I am going to turn her onto the book it's something she wouldn't have looked at without this review.
