Default What's the worst the golf bug has bit you?
I do belive this is the worst I have ever been biten by the golf bug. My new irons are sitting in the truck, and I'm sitting behind the desk. The clock's hands seem to just stand still! I just want to go to the driving range and hit a couple 4 or 5 buckets, but can't leave yet.

What is the worst the golf bug has bit you / Have you ever just left work to go get your "fix"?

Of course, I leave work for golf all the time, especially in the winter. You can be assured that in the winter if it is a nice day with the sun out and the course is open then I will be there that day.

I was first bit 35 years ago, so now even though I play everyday during the season, I deal with the winter off season by doing other things golf related like club/putter restoration. I rarely leave work for golf. As much as I love golf, I love having money in my account more.

Now I see why so many Canadians come down to AZ in the winter, I guess we are kinda spoiled here with perfect weather to play all year long. Albeit a little warm in the summer, but early tee times help with that!

As much as I enjoy winter golf, the golf bug really hits me when springs starts. Those days when it starts getting warm and you're just itching to hit the course on a warm sunny day.

Yea I use to take off from work to hit the course because of the golf bug. You get the itch and you just got to scratch it. Being retired now makes it much easier to scratch that itch, and yep, I love retirement

I live in the north MayDay and winter's are difficult. I've played on some very cold days, and have heated bays to practice out of, but it's not the same as playing golf on a nice day in the 50's or 60's. Or, even better in the 70's on up. January, February, and March...ugh.

Normally gets me pretty bad about Wednesday through to the weekend. I have to go play at least a few holes each night at the end of the week. Sometimes its so bad I go out Monday and Tuesday as well. Not uncommon for me to be hitting balls 7 days a week. When the bug bites I obey. I'm not in a job I can leave to itch the bug bites though.

April. The tournament we have at work, that kicks off our golf outings for the summer. We usually fill the course. Get to see a lot of friends that we haven't seen since the previous year. Really gets me determined to get my game together.

Summer by far. I hate when I'm at work and it's nice out. All I think is "I could have played 36 or 45 holes today plus hit the range".

This is why I am planning on working at one of several local golf courses this summer. Even if I'm on the grounds crew, I will be on the golf course. Then, when I get done, I can go out and play. I'll live at my country club (he says acting as if he doesn't ALREADY live there from April - September).......

Yeah I'm going to try as hard as I can to get a job at one of my local courses as a cart guy. They get free golf. I would save enough money to buy a whole bag's worth of clubs or more over the course of the summer lol.

I've talked to people that have worked both, and apparently the cart guys make bank. They get a ton of tips ($200+ on a busy day) on top of the flat rate paid by the course. Absurd.

I had one of those "ah-ha" moments the past couple of days with my swing and I couldn't get to sleep last night at all, was just so excited to hit the range/course in the morning. I'm blessed enough to be able to play 6 days a week so my bug gets his fixins.
