Default Tournament Spreadsheets
Soooo ... for some reason I was put in charge of getting together a group of friends to organize an impromptu golf outing. No big deal. Then the 8 of us turned into 12. The 12 into 16, and now we have 40 people playing Sunday here in beautiful Florida. A great day of golf with 40 suckers friends, and each player is putting $20 each into the pot. All of a sudden, the teams and handicaps mean something don't they? I'll answer for you ... yes they do thank you very much.

I have already searched (so don't say Google it), but does anyone have access/experience with this through Excel or something similar? I'm pretty sure that I will get a Scotty Cameron where the sun doesn't shine if this goes wonky ... and any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

What type of tournament are you looking to run? Just a net stroke play event? I have a nifty skins sheet I use for a 40 man outing (divided into 2 flights), but can you tell us a bit more about what you are looking to run?

There shouldnt be a need to use Access, Excel should be more than adequate. Help us help you, tell us exactly what you are looking for, then let the power of computer nerd golfers help you.

I'm fairly certain I can help, give us some details and then we can follow up via PM or email.

dubbledxu ... good points made there.

This is a best ball format for each foursome (10 teams) and is flighted by handicap (2 A players and 2 B players per foursome). There is also a skins portion that is optional ... the skins are done on an individual basis.

To be honest, this sounds pretty easy once the players and their flight are set. Will the teams change every round / day? When you say best ball, is it truly a best ball (four ball) format or a 4 person scramble type format? I assume you just want to input the team score and have excel tell you the best X teams for payout?

Like I said, I have the skins already done, you would just need to replace my names with your names and input their scores. Excel finds all the skins and highlights them for you.
