I subscribed to this thread so I can come back to it throughout the year.

I had one goal coming into this season (my first real season of golf). Break 100. I wanted to be realistic about my expectations. I accomplished that, but better yet, I feel that I have the potential to shoot much lower and that is pretty exciting.

My on-course highlights of the year were:
-Dropping around 40 strokes from my highest to my lowest round,
-Improving my short game and chipping in a couple times *fist pumps* hehe
-Making three birdies and having the chance at quite a few more
-Improving in general

The REAL highlights of 2010:
-Making to Florida twice and making some great friends along the way. Life changing stuff for me.
-Playing golf in my area with 4 other THP members.

Goals for the winter off-season:
-Lose my over-the-top move for good
-Improve ball striking with my irons
-PUTTING

Goals for 2011
-Become an 80's golfer consistently.
-Bring my HC down to 15 or lower.
-Dramatically increase the number of GIR's I hit.
-Continue to increase driving distance and accuracy.
-Hit more medium and long putts.

My only goal is to play more than I did this year. Way too many days spent not golfing.

Easy goal here. Since I finally broke through this past season, to make sure it's not a fluke, my goal in 2011 is to consistently shoot in the 90's (and maybe break into the 80's in the process although that would be icing on the cake).

Goals for 2011
  • 12 Handicap (reached 15 this year, was 20 in '09)
  • Properly fitted new irons (is that a goal? I gotta save up, so must be, right?)
  • Practice at least once, if not twice, a week (as in, don't let a week go by without practice)
  • Play 50 rounds (tops is 41)

My goal for 2011 is to be consistently in the 90s and to play in at least one club tournament.

Great post SMG!

I'm almost leary to post a goal this year as I simply did not reach last years. I broke 80 like three times last year, once at the end of the season, so really expected to break that barrier quite a bit this season. I played more golf than ever this year, worked extremely hard on my mid irons and short game, that had already been working pretty solid, only to mess up the short game and my long game came around, haha.

Highlights:
Broke 80 twice
Shot very consistent 83 average
Made it to four THP Outings including Florida and met a ton of great people, made a ton of new friends.
Winning the beautiful Bettinardi putter has to rank way up there.
Had my own Putter hand crafted by Gene Nead ranks way up there.

Goals:
Play to have fun
Learn to score more often once I'm in position to
Play the course smarter, especially new to me courses
Break that elusive 80 a whole lot more.

Where do I begin...

My best score by far has only been 104...so I know I've got it in me to beat that!! The lessons will keep on going, I'd like to be more consistent with ALL of my clubs. I'm either better in my woods than my irons or vice versa and just horrible with the putter all the time I'd like to be consistent throughout my entire bag. So I guess I just need to work on my entire game, especially with holes that are par 5s.

Oh boy, I've got a lot of work to do

You'll get there GC, as determined as you are and the hard work you have put in will pay off in time.

Mine is simple.

-Correct my mental meltdown on holes 8-12
-Score better on Par 3's
-Not embarrass myself @ PGA National
