Default Scrambles?
Do you enjoy playing Scrambles? And if you do, how many times a year do you play? What is your best score or finish in a scramble tournament? Shot a 59 today with my team (12 birdies - 0 bogeys)! Finished in a tie for 2nd and won gift cards to the pro shop!!!

Play in 2 a year now for charity. Best score is -20. Ironically we came in 2nd.

I love playing in scrambles.
I play in 2 or 3 per year.
The best score for a scramble that I played in was 17 under. (3 pars - 0 bogeys- 13 birdies - 2 eagles) And we got 2nd.

I like playing in scrambles that help a good cause especially when my entry fee is paid for. Played in one last Friday where we shot -12 and won nothing for score, but was drawn as one of seven teams to get $500 each. I get aggravated when there is lots of sandbagging and or cheating, which I have seen happen.

I play in charity scrambles 2x a year. I love them. Everyone cheats apparently. It's charity not a trophy thing. This year we used my tee shot on 15 of 19 holes even though you're supposed to have a minimum of 3 per team member. That's as bad as we cheated. The winning scores are usually in the mid 50's and knowing whose on them it's a bunch of picking up 12 foot putts as gimme's and not counting the a stroke every few holes But since the only scrambles I play are drinking fests for a good cause it doesn't bother me in the least.

I love scrambles. Played in one on June 25th and we shot -18 and won our flight. The only bad thing about them is you know there is mad cheating because noone is there to keep your score or watch you play like in real tourneys, but they are most for charity so not much of a reason to cheat in those ones. I like to play in about 3 a year. Playing in one on the 28th in WVa. Most of the ones i play in we usually finish in the top 3.

At least 2 every year and up to 5 if schedules cooperate. I play with buddies and never expect to win. If they counted beer cans after we'd have a helluva shot at that.

Played in 2 just last month ironically. Especially since I can't remember the time before that at all.
Its a great change of pace, normally when I'm playing i'm, in my own head grinding away at the course. I remember a moment at my last scramble, standing on the fairway waiting for my turn to hit, Cigar in one hand, Beer in the other, and my partner just stuck his shot to 2 feet. I calmly got back into the cart without hitting my shot and said to my partners: "see you guys on the next tee"
At that moment I remember thinking to myself "Man, I've been taking golf way too seriously. This is how I should be spending my weekends"

Fun times. It's like company/beer league softball. It may look like a sport resembling professional baseball, but there certainly aint nothing professional about it. (especially when the Keg is listed to bat 4th.)

Scrambles are the BEST! I play in 2 a year but would love to play in more. Best score in a 4 man is -12 and best in a 2 man is -4. Came in second both times.

I'm play in three a year to support local charities. Finished first with a
-16 total last year, same team same score this year and lost by 2 to a team that was stacked with Bayhill men's club. That can flat out play. Scrambles are fun but can be frustrating as well.

Scrambles are fun to play in every-so-often, makes me take golf not so serious for a day. Plus, I get to completely unload on a couple drives!!

Completely agree - it's a great change of pace and a really fun way to look at golf. I know I can take the game tooooo seriously sometimes and I love that it changes my outlook- even just for the afternoon.

I enjoy scrambles, but not nearly as much as other tourneys because it doesn't seem as competitive when your shots don't often count (or mine don't lol). Usually play 2 or 3 a year. Really enjoy playing shortly after a scramble tourney though b/c I always find at least a dozen balls!

I enjoy scrambles and have played in a lot of them. Unfortunately, in my experience, the teams with sharpest pencil and fullest eraser usually win. I like it when spotters are provided to keep it fair. Not all people are dishonest, but I've seen it first hand, so I'm sour on them.

I like scrambles, played in 5 so far this year, but like Biggest mentioned winning takes a good pencil and less than honest intentions much of the time. I did win pretty big this weekend because of the flight and I picked well on the Calcutta.

I love to play in them. Usually 2-3 year for charity. Great when it is held on a course I normally can not get on . Having a lady on your scramble team really improves your chances because on some holes they get a very favorable tee box!!

YESSIR - my girlfriend won the longest drive today AND she def. helped us on several holes off the tee - especially on a few dog legs. It was ALMOST like cheating because she hits the ball so far hahaha

Played in my first, and most likely only, one of the year on Saturday. I enjoyed it. Didn't expect to win and didn't win, but it was a nice change of pace. the only downside is that I didn't feel like I really got a round in.

I love them! I usually play in 3 or 4 a year (I think it'll be 3 this year). I just love catching up with some friends I may not get to see as often as I want. Plus, they're all usually for a good cause and provide a fun, relaxed environment.
