So I mark my balls with a BIG FAT BLUE LINE that goes all the way around my ball. Because people can't seem to recognize which ball is theirs and which is not.
But today I hit my tee shot just in the left rough and the guys came from the adjacent fairway looking for their balls.... I swear the guy was going to hit my ball until I said... THAT's MINE, THAT's MINE, THAT'S MINE.... WITH THE BIG BLUE LINE.... Amazing how un-observant people are..... |

I agree. I hit a Vision X3 ball into the rough last week and some guy was lining up to hit it. I asked him what kind of ball he was playing and he said he didnt remember. The vision balls arent found in America very often I wouldnt figure so I told him it was probably mine. He left and walked around looking for another one. I dont get it either.

Sucks when people don't bother to look. |

I gotta be honest, the only time I really check if it's mine is if I've really let one go, and that rarely happens. If I happen to hit one into the rough, I usually take a glance and if it's the same brand, I don't think twice. I've never hit someone else's ball though on the plus side. Only time I'll pick up a ball is if it's really out there, and doesn't look likely to be found. I normally play later in the day, so there's not many people on the course, and rarely the chance to be a ball in play.

OH WOW ! Look a lost treasure all FOR ME , its like people can't seem to leave a ball alone ( like a moth to light ) if the right-full person isn't standing right next to it .
I mark mine with 2 dots ( blue , black or red ) on either side of the number on all my balls and always look to see if its mine before I hit , and have had to confront a few people that I knew picked mine up ! I play mens club every Sunday morning and they know my mark and I have lost a few balls around the course through the year and other guys have found them and gave them back to me .......... LOL |

A lot of people don't thing there is anyone else on the course so theres now reason to look at the ball or watch other holes to see if they should stop the cart if your teeing off. Some people were never taught or just don't care about other people on the course.

Slightly funny story to lighten the mood a bit.. One of my regular playing partners writes "SS" (his initials) on his ball before every round because he wants to make sure he's hitting his own ball. Well, he was in a tournament earlier this year and hit a ball from the left side of the fairway with SS on it.. As it turns out, it was a ball he had lost the day before that was found, and the guy that found it had hooked it into the fairway of the wrong hole..
Crazy how that happens.. My poor friend was penalized even though he checked the ball and it had every indication that it was his haha! |

We had this happen a couple of weeks ago Twice by the Same guy on adjacent holes, lol. Going dow hole #4 one in my party slices into some trees between two fairways and on the way there we see this guy with his wife hitting a ball from about where my buddy is hitting. We get there and my buddies brand new PentaTP is gone but there's an old TopFlight laying there, haha. He was hot, but we go on laughing at our buddy about it. We get stuck behind a big group for a while and by the time we are half way up the next hole, a long par 5 #5 we see the same dude walking all the way across our fairway to pick up another PentaTP that my buddy had just pulled out to play. He steps on the gas and gets to the guy asking whats up? When we ask the guy what ball he was playing he looks at the ball first and says Penta.
My friend points out the blue sharpy markings and says no fricking way you use the same markings and I know you have another in your pocket just like it. This guy gets mad, throws the ball down and storms off to the clubhouse, quiting the round. When we make our turn the guy from the clubhouse comes out to ask whats up, but says we did the right thing. We were really pretty darn nice to the guy, but he tried to make us out as jerks. |
