Default Golfers who make your squirm!
Have you ever played golf with someone who you just don't feel comfortable with? No matter how hard you try ,they get in your head or seem to affect your game in a negative way. Kelly and I played with one of those "golfers" today who was constantly giving us lessons and correcting us. We both ended up beating him on the front nine and he went home. Everybody has trolls out there that make you squirm. Right?

To be honest, I cannot remember the last time I played with someone who just irritated me. If someone were to offer me swing advice I would ask them to stop. I've heard horror stories though.

I have played with the guy who "had a shot at the tour" and he wasn't that good.

Cheaters really bug me out, played a tournament today and I will not be doing that again for a while. Played with two elderly people who new each other today and they played golf more like they wanted to than how the rules actually are. Played the wrong ball, ran over balls with the trolly and so on. I think I must stop now, are getting angry again.

This guy in my Employee league. I play with him once every other week. Always gives advice, gives himself 5 footers, always making excuses. He pushes a shot, "oh I was trying to play a draw and it didn't turn over" And he talks and talks and talks. A friend of his qualified for the Senior open 2 years ago and he caddied for his friend. Apparently he thinks this gives him the right to be everyone's caddie and lecture on swings and how to play shots. Drives me crzy

Don't get me wrong as I will listen to honest constructive advice and it has helped me many times through a tough round. This guy actually had some good solid advice and one tip was very useful. It was just his demeanor. I remember one time you were playing in a golf tournament and some nut broke his club almost taking your leg out. It's the bad mojo I am talking more about than just the ill advised golf tips.

Yeah, I hear ya. That guy was just super angry when he did that to me. He was a good golfer but he was trying to draw the ball off the tee and just double crossed it and hit a huge slice. He said a few curse words and slammed his driver into the ground, snapped it in half and the head half slammed across my thighs. Super uncomfortable 11 holes of golf after that.

There is one of "those" guys at my home club. Every bad shot made he tells you why, but never says anything on the good ones. With his shots, on the bad ones, you get several explanations as to what all went wrong, but it is never anything he does, as it is normally the wind, the sun, the lie, the guy mowing his yard in the next county etc. and on the good ones, he tells why it was good, every shot, everytime. He is also one of those "you should have seen me play yesterday" kind of guys. He carries as 8 handicap but no one has ever seen him break 85 as he never plays in any events, plus he never shuts up. I always said the guy has to talk in his sleep.

I played with "that guy" last weekend, and his wife who was absolutely charming(poor woman). Both were pretty good players around 10 hcp:ers. You know the type around 60-ish of age hitting the ball annoyingly straight and short.

Anyways he really got under my skin after 2 holes of golf, when he started "instructing" his wife in a pretty rude way. He of course turned his attention to me a couple of holes later when I couldn´t stop my ball from bouncing off the green from 90 yards, with the brilliant advice "you should have hit that ball more clean" Wow...

The thing is normally that wouldn´t have bothered me much, but I was playing pretty bad so I guess he got me. I even got so frustrated in the end I actually repaid him a "compliment".

Hopefully instructor-guy is nowhere near me tomorrow, as I plan to really enjoy myself. Positive thoughts and good shots.

The last round I played I played with a preacher at one of our churches. I have nothing against religion but when you are trying to push it onto me throughout my whole round I start to get aggitated. Then at the end of our round he gave me one of his cards, which I took. And then tried to get me into a pyramid scheme that he was a part of......just blew my mind.

Yep that guy got on my nerves a little today but in the end we both beat him (and I played the same tees as he did) so that made it all better.

The funny part was KellyBo out driving him by a good bit on a few of the holes!

was out in a 3 ball with my normal playing partner and a random guy from the club. it was a team competition so was best score on each hole out of the 3 of us.

first thing he said was he was "going to course manage us" "as mid handicappers could save some shots with good course managememt"

thing was this guy was only a few shots better handicap wise than me! really got my back up before we even teed off. took a few holes before i settled down and he took the hint that i would stick with my own course management approach regardless of his free advice..lol.

so we can add "course management guy" to the list of golfers who make you squirm.

Wonders around aimlessly for no reason, can never find his ball, parks teh cart like a mile from the green and never goes back to get it and just takes forever....hard for me to stay focused, thats for sure
