Golf Channel Event Coverage
 

We have all been on here from time to time complaining how it sucks that the golf channel plays reruns of Rush Limbaugh and Pipe Dream, but I am truly wondering, what is the reason that they dont show coverage of the tournament? Tim Finchem talks about putting key threesomes together, but Paul Casey, Luke Donald and Phil Mickelson are still on the course. Jhonny Vegas, Rickie Fowler, Bill Haas, although not playing together, are all still on the course. And Im stuck watching the trainwreck of Mark Burk, who is belittling his counselor because hes not very good at golf(but he has a job and home so good on him).


There needs to some dollars and cents reason to why they arent showing the tournament, and I cannot come up with the reason why. Is there a contracting issue or something that Im missing out on?

+1000 on this issue. I'm so irritated with the golf channel. Golf is almost non existent on the channel anymore.

I'm with you on this , the reruns of those 2 programs are on all the friggin' time , they definitely are their 2 worst shows IMO .

I'm with you Thainer, I got home just now hoping to watch some of the late round coverage and what do I see but reruns of Pipe Dream as you say. This sucks, You are the golf channel, SHOW MORE GOLF!

It reminds of the deterioration of the Food Network. At one time it was a network about cooking. Then it became MTV with throw downs, cook offs, and reality shows.

+1 on the feelings shared here. Similar to MTV and now you cannot find a music video or anything related to music on there now.

It is insane there are so many possibilities for new shows but it's all just funded by stupid infomertials of the worlds worst products that nobody even wants. The only good series is big break. Seems the GC is filled with a bunch of ignorant a-holes (burk, trump etc) and please, atleast make a show that shows instructional video that is bearable to watch besides playing with the pros (or whatever it's called) breed is just awful and that new guy is a drone.

Hmmm. Maybe they should do what MTV did in the 90's with MTV2: Create a Golf Channel 2 that shows more golf coverage and allow regular golf channel to become a cesspool of lazy, reality tv craving lunatics.

Agreed. Instead we have crap like Jersey Shore? Come on!

I'm not trying to be funny, but I really think something like The Morgan Cup would make very compelling television, as opposed to Haney or Pipe Dream, which I don't watch. And/or show Shell's Wonderful World of Golf.

That would be great, I would watch that. I think what we are saying is that we will watch golf, and any golf will do.

And it would be nice to see people like us play.

Agreed, but I think like coolbreeze said, any golf would do. I'm all for watching hacks like ourselves play golf, could you imagine a Am player mic'd up. That would be hilarious!!!

Just don't mic me up, they couldn't find enough bleeps in the TV truck to cover me up.

Definitely wouldn't spit on the green!!! Throwing clubs is only warranted when you hit an amazing shot. Excitement of chipping in or other cool shots all brings out a club fling with style......
